Interest Check WH40K Deathwatch/Dark Heresy

Hi all, I'm a GM with experience in Dark Heresy, Pathfinder, DnD 3.5 and a few home-made tabletop games. I have a very scatter-shot schedule, it changes every week due to work, and I am looking for players interested in variable start times. I am usually off work between 8-11pm PST and each week I will post my schedule and do my best to work out when we can play. Have fun and hope to hear from the community soon, DJ
I am fairly interested in such (Generally I have not much going on in the evenings and thoroughly enjoyed the five sessions I got to play of Dark Heresey before stuff fell apart.) That said, I'd lean more towards DH vs DW just because I'm not the biggest fan of the requisition system in DW. The hours would be fine for me except for Wednesday (I have my Pathfinder group weekly on Wednesdays, though it sometimes cancels.) I have limited experience with the systems and limited knowledge of the universe as a whole. If you would be ok with that I would love to join as a player. (If it is DW, I will pretty much only play a Space Wolf...they are my favorite ^^)
I would be without doubt, modifying the Requisition system. For the most part, items would be limited to what the mission requires (and the barge which you are stationed aboard has access to) and I am down to play with any chapter, as long as you stick to the Core Rulebook (I am still learning the newer DW rulebooks).
>implying you even need to interest check for DH. Although 8-11pm PST is 4-7am GMT+0. For future reference; if you want to include us GMT timezones try planning the game for about 12 noon, maybe on a weekend. You can also go up to 2 hours earlier or later. Thats the eavening for us.
I'd be interested. New player but familiar with lore (currently reading Ravenor Omnibus). would prefer Dark Heresy over Death Watch personally but would be down for either.
I'm interested. I'm a new player as well but am very familiar with the universe. I would also perfer Dark Heresy over Death Watch.
I'm new to this and looking to get into Dark Heresy. I am familiar with the universe and pick thing up pretty quickly.
How come everybody seems to prefer Dark Heresy over Deathwatch? do you guys not like being post human ultra-badasses? Seriously though, I'd be down to play anything in the grim darkness.
I think a lot of it has to do with people prefer to do the heavier roleplaying that Dark Heresy provides over the more combat oriented that Deathwatch is. I haven't played but one session of DW but the session seemed to mostly just be pure combat. DH seemed to be more about doing everything you could to keep from getting into combat but still being capable when combat does ensue...but that was just me personally.
I would be interested in DH, I am able to play weekdays [except Monday and Wednesday] after 4pm gmt and all day saturday. I am well versed in 40K lore.
still looking for any players?

I'm interested Edit: I have a good deal of W40k Core Books including Dark Heresy, Rogue Trader, and Black Crusade. I always wanted to try and get into a good group of this but no one seems to play it.
I'm currently in the process of brainstorming for a long term Dark Heresy campaign. I'm a new GM but have confidence in my abilities and will be looking for players soon.
@Adam Can't wait to see it.
I'd be interested in either Dark Heresy of Deathwatch. One issue I have with DW, as mentioned, is that it's heavily focused on combat. Ya, space marines are warrior monks, but the books is full of all these thoughts and play styles where you have to oversee some political negotiations or defending someone instead of just prosecuting everyone with your holy bolter. As an aside, I'd kind of be interested in playing in a single chapter game rather than members of the Deathwatch. This would open up a lot of tactical options while taking out a lot of the chapter emo that permeates the books. It would also open up more options for fighting daemons and other threats instead of just blowing away Tyranids. I'm fine with a more traditional game, but I see a lot of wasted potential with DW (FPS the game instead of an actual roleplaying game) Regarding DH, I can go any way with it. Although the game is tragically entertaining, I haven't really seen any play style problems.
/\ This, THIS. Man, we're on the same voxlink. DW needs more story action, and a single chapter option would help this along. Players too often become their chapter gimmick rather than have an actual personality.
What he said. Space marines are pretty wooden as is, but I also find that characters become the sum of their chapter and their weapons, lacking the personalities that come out the books, video games, and fluff.
Deathwatch is a really interesting vehicle. It's also probably correct that you get slightly more nuanced characters when doing it as a single chapter. It's not like any Space Marine is ever going to find a shortage of action. I'm thinking especially, of something like Iron Snakes, from Dan Abnett. The interesting thing about Deathwatch is setting up operation arcs, and within each arc, having there be something like 3-5 separate missions where success or failure in one determines the conditions of the next.
Me and Scooter are up for a game. What about you Jonathan?
i'm up for a game of Deathwatch
i'd be up for either Deathwatch or darkheresy if its a decent time for me..(how you doing scooter?)
I'm not too bad, Thomas. How've you been?

I'd go for a game of Deathwatch. Granted, my times are very similar to the OP (except I can start earlier at 7 PM PST). I assume core book and Rites of Battle?
i've been doing fine scooter
I would be interested in DW too. I've only ever played it once, as a one-shot, but I've played other WH40K RPGs for a while now. The problems, however, would be my woeful european-ness, which automatically rules out about 85% of games on roll20, and the fact that I will be busy on any weekday before 4:00pm GMT+2.
I would be interested in DH
DH, just because I've got a hard copy of the core book. Available Tuesday through Saturday only, times matching the OP.
