Is it possible... macro question

I have a situation coming up where it would be extremely useful to have a macro that increases the number of dice rolls based on the number of times it was previous rolled, or just an equation that would do this.  Essentially I mechanic where a creature will take 1d6 damage increased by 1d6 every six seconds so, eventually it could be 30d6. Now the easy solution is to  just roll a macro xd6 times but, I imagine there is a better way to do it. Is this possible?

I don't think it's possible to record an incrementing variable like that without the API.

Probably the best way to do this without using the API, would be to link the number of dice to an attribute, and just add 1 to the attribute each time you roll the dice. You cant do that automatically, you need to manually add 1 to the stat, so its not perfect, but it does track the current level of damage.
Expanding on G G's idea, I would create a character with a field for the number of dice, and link that value to a bar, this way you could easily change the value with a token and wouldn't have to edit the charactersheet itself. Other possible solution could be a rollquery, asking for the number of dice to use

Using the bar is a great way to do it, Florien.
