Using Dynamic Lighting for First Time and Players Sees Black Screen

Hello. I'm trying to prepare an adventure on roll20. I set up a map, and enabled dynamic lighting and line of sight. I then entered the dynamic lighting layer, and drew polygons to block different areas of the map. I then added a token, and gave that token 30 ft radius light and checked the box so light could be seen by all players. I moved the token through my map and verified that the areas blocked off did block the light. Everything looked and worked great. I then moved the player banner to the page I had prepared. I then exited the game and rejoined as a player. All I saw was a black screen area. I was expecting to see a black screen area except for the token and the light radius around it, but there was nothing there. Why can't I see the token?

Did you edit the "control by" part? If you are not assigned to it then it won't work for you or at least that is what I understand. I set this up on one of my boards and it worked. It is not shown on this but I did change it after this screen shot.
Metroknight is correct. If you have line of sight enabled, you'll need to make sure your player has control of a token that has sight or they will just see black. You can test it for yourself by giving yourself control of the token (choose your own name from the list under "Controlled by" and then go to the settings tab and choose "rejoin as player" near the bottom. That will let you see what the map would look like as a player.
I had "Emits Light" checked for the token, as I thought that would enable the player to see it. I didn't have "Has Sight" checked, and when I checked that box also and re-entered the game as a player, I could see the token.

The only reason that I was somewhat sure on that is because I just went through my round of what is going on with some work on my board also. Sarah helped me alot. She is a great mod.
Thanks for your help Metroknight and Sarah A. I was really impressed by how quickly I received responses. I'm really liking roll20 and having fun setting up an adventure. I'm about to introduce my nephews to tabletop RPGs in a few minutes using roll20, and you've helped make that introduction that much better for them!

if you want to see only what a token can see, for instance give a darkvision feel to a token, wich means that the token emits a light that only he can see, to be able to test you have to to have the control of the token itself. when you rejoin as a player, if you as such doesn't have the control of the token, you won't be able to see anything. for my tests i made a new "character" that i control, and that's it
Good luck with the introduction to gaming, Aaron! There's not much that's more fun, I think. :) Another quick tip that might be useful for working with dynamic lighting and line of sight is that you, as the GM, can check what any token on the board can see by selecting the token and pressing CTRL+L. It's quicker than having to click "rejoin as player." If you haven't had the chance, you can check out the Dynamic Lighting Wiki Page for more information about that feature.
