Waypoints on by Default?

Hi all, I'm new to working with Roll20, but one thing I really like already is the  Waypoints feature that automatically tracks how far a token is moving while you're dragging it. But personally, I find it a little inconvenient to have to press space bar every time I want the measurement to show up. Is there an option to have the measurement always show when dragging a token without having to press space? Obviously, you would still need to press space to specify a waypoint along the path, but I'm only interested in making the initial measurement show up by default. Is this possible? Or if it's not directly possible, are there any API scripts or work-arounds that get similar results? Thanks.
I suppose you can use an API called light crumbs, and adjust each crumbs perhaps different for each player to see their way point? It may get cluttering though, or you can delete the crumb at End of Turn...but it accomplish what you want, to an extent.
