Trouble with nested macros for spells

I have it set up as posting a list of the spells as clickable buttons.  As below: [Fire Bolt](!#glory-firebolt)[Chill Touch](!#glory-chilltouch)[Light](!#glory-light)[Message](!#glory-message)[Thaumaturgy](!#glory-thaumaturgy)[Burning Hands](!#glory-burninghands)[Charm Person](!#glory-charmperson)[Sleep](!#glory-sleep) And each sub macro works perfectly when used directly.  Firebolt example: %{selected|repeating_spell-cantrip_$0_spell} In the above though, when I use the buttons, nothing happens.  When I click a button that has multiple levels, it'll ask what level I want to cast it at, but then nothing happens after

Well, you can actually make this a lot easier. Instead of having the ability calls in global macros (I highly recommend not using global macros for anything that references a character or has html code in it), just use ability command buttons: [Fire Bolt](~selected|repeating_spell-cantrip_$0_spell) EDIT: Also, since each of these is going to be different for different characters, I would set the ability command up with the character's name hardcoded in: [Fire Bolt](~Billy Bob Example Character|repeating_spell-cantrip_$0_spell) You can also make it dynamic for easy copy and paste between character abilities with this: [Fire Bolt](~@{character_name}|repeating_spell-cantrip_$0_spell)
That works great!  Thanks so much. I'm not sure I understand why my original didn't work though?  Also if I don't make a separate macro, is there an easy way to have level 1 spells auto roll for wild magic table?  (Ideally with a if condition of rolling a 1, but last I checked that wasn't possible, so rolling everytime is fine, but only way I know how is with a separate macro)

You may also be able to have the thing spit out its own spell name into the button too if there is a "Spell Name" trait you can stick in. It then might look like [@{Jim Bob the Destoyer|repeating_spell-cantrip_$0_spellname}](~Jim Bob the Destoyer|repeating_spell-cantrip_$0_spell)

there's an API function for Nested Macros, but I'm very curious about this line of conversation, I'm subscribing, please do elaborate, because you honestly totally lost me, I have only found the repeating spell list about as logical as a Chaotic Evil Wizard hosting a Paladin and Lich Cease Fire Meeting at Valhalla. I'm using the community 5e sheet though, not OGL.
