List-query Macros, help needed

Hi, so Im new to Roll20 and have a group of fairly new players. Im trying to write a macro that would allow my new players to call a drop down list of non combat rolls like perception, stealth, and diplomacy. I know I need to do something along the lines of: ?{non-combat|perception, 1d20| stealth, 1d20}  but I would like it to call to their individual character sheets. I know the roll for their individual skill is: %{selected character|stealth-check} but how to combine them all Im lost

You might want to look at nesting queries, and how some of the brackets and special characters have to be replaced with their html-code shorthand like here  Advanced_Usage_for_Roll_Queries . Depending on the system there might be existing macros for this, or something you can cannibalize. Look on the wiki for the sheet/system you are using.
Awesome! I appreciate it, I will look into that!
Ok so I think what Im asking it to do is flawed because of the order of operations? Heres what Im trying to do: ?{Combat| Melee, ?{value1| Short Sword , %{Adrios&#124Repeating_weapon_0_attack-roll&#125 | Ranged , value1B } } where its a macro called combat, that opens a drop down for mele or ranged, then for the attack selected. andfor the non combat things like perception stealth and initiative on a seperate macro. SO if someone could please point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated!

IMO, nesting queries is just too much of pain with the substitutions, order of operations, the editor "eating" your substitutions and such...  I would suggest using  Ability Command Buttons (chat menu) instead of the trying to nest queries. example; #combat (name of macro) /w Andrios [Short Sword](~Andrios|repeating_weapon_$0_attack-roll) [Long Bow](~Andrios|repeating_weapon_$1_attack-roll) btw: if you know the rowID of those attacks it's better to use that instead of the older "$X" format.  If you ever rearrange your attacks on the sheet your custom macro using "$X" is hard wired to only roll a given row.  Using a rowID instead will always roll the correct weapon regardless of it's row position.   What sheet are you using?  The community sheet includes the rowID info on each repeating row and has chat menu buttons built-in for nearly every roll on the sheet.
