Dynamic lighting and fog of war and characters without darkvision

I am using the Lost Mines of Phandelver set and I am wondering about the maps that have dynamic lighting. I have a human and a gnome. I followed the tips and set the gnome up with darkvision. The human has no such luck. When I drag the human token to the map and I hit "ctrl+L", which is supposed to show me what the player sees, everything is in light gray. Is this correct? recent update? Why isn't it pitch black? Should it be pitch black or should they be able to see something? See settings below and page settings. Page and vision settings So I notice the human can't even see the other PC. The darkvision character can see the other PC and some of the map is revealed. I guess I got it right?
So this is because you are using the Advanced Fog of War (AFoW). The map is shown grayed out to symbolize that the character has traversed the area before an can remember the places they saw previously. You can reset this fog by using the left-hand toolbox.
ok, I will try to reset it and see.  Also, I notice this (mind you we haven't played these maps yet in game, I am just checking them out to make sure they all work as intended) This map has Global Illumination on. It has some weird lighting effect happening with dynamic lighting and global illumination. Is this normal?

So what is the problem you are seeing? That seems to work as expected to me. EDIT. If the problem you are seeing is that you can see inside the buildings click the "Enforce Line of Sight" setting in the Page Settings.
the buildings have some creatures in there so that is working (not able to see inside) just the long shadows looked odd.. I am new to this and just checking to make sure it's setup properly. Thanks for the feedback Kyle!

The "shadows" are not really darkness, but areas of the map that cannot be seen from the point of view of the token. That is why they all seem to radiate from the token's position. This is different from normal Fog of War, which hides discrete areas of the map despite the point of view, and Advanced Fog of war, which grays out all areas previously seen by the token, regardless of who moves it around the map.
