[LFP GMT+] Modern open world with superpowers and morals

Hullo, I’m a relatively new DM, longtime player (new account because reasons), who finally got her stuff together and made this post. I’m looking for 3-6 players who are up for a modern superhero campaign. The game will be played either over discord or roll20. I’m in GMT+2, and not open to playing after 11PM (I'm online after that, but not in a capacity enough to DM). Something more specific in terms of time and day will be decided once there is a set group. Either voice or text (or both) works for me, but I may be able to be up later than 11PM if by text. The system is yet undecided. I am considering either a general one (GURPS, d6, FU) or editing a well known one such as DnD. The premise of the game is an open world, set on earth as we know it (kinda, ya know, superpowers), with goals decided by the players. There will be “quests”, but separate from the aforementioned goals. The main themes will be mystery, exploration, and morals. If the players want to add other elements, such as politics, horror, curb stomping, etc, that is more than welcome. As for the superpower part of the game, I am open to the most crazy of ideas. Nothing world-breaking, but some OP-ness is in fact encouraged. We will work out exact mechanics of each power during the character creation, but my only rule here is that it is one central idea. If you want to be a swiss knife, you gotta sell it to me as that rather than just a bunch of tools in a box. The world will be based on that of “Worm”, a web serial, but no familiarity with it is required. In fact, I would much prefer someone who have never read it compared to someone who knows every characters’ birthday. The reason for this simply because I don’t want the focus to be on the events, characters, and locations of the story, which was what happened when I ran a game with people who knew the story. So who am I looking for? Well, someone who thinks the above looks like something for them, but I suspect people prefer something a bit more substantial than that. My only stone-set rule is that you are respectful, and use proper spelling and grammar to the best of your ability when playing. Otherwise, I would really enjoy players who act out conversations, combat, and scenes in general rather than just “I try to convince her to change her mind.” or “I shoot him with arcane bolt.”. I also would like people who want to work as a team/group of friends, not just individuals that happen to be in the same area. If this sounds like something for you, go ahead and post below or shoot me a PM. For people who like that, here is a form(-ish). Feel free to add some random tidbits about yourself, a character idea, or just a nice meme. Name: Age: Timezone: What do you like about the premise?: What don’t you like about the premise?: Why do you think you would enjoy/fit this campaign?: Opinion on what system to use: Don’t be afraid to ask for explanations, expansions, or anything really either here or in PMs. Cheers, Malin aka whatever nickname you think fits.

The premise is good, and a few suggestion for type of system. Well it depends on how mean you want to be. Dresden Files is good if ya don't want to be, but Call of Cthulhu if you do. Dresden Files RPG system is really open, and and is a bit easier to understand. Though Super Heroes going crazy, and you got some really bad things out there. A bit more systems, and harder to understand at times, though it can be looked up etc. Just a couple to take a look at, I am sure there are more then that..
Thank you for the suggestions. I did not state a system mostly because I don't really care which is used in the end. I want the players to feel comfortable using it, and understand it. I already have an idea of how to work in superpowers, so that doesn't have to be a part of the existing system. In the end, energy blasts are just projectiles and a super strong fist is still a fist, meaning the core mechanics are already there. Though I will check out Dresden Files RPG - I already know Call of Cthulhu.
*bump*
Name: Andraste Age: 18 Timezone: GMT+3 What I like: Been wanting to play a modern game, and the hour works for me.  What I don't like: In all honestly I tend to be a bit vague, like "I try to convince him" but if I play a character that's not very social that shouldn't be a problem System suggestion: If you're willing to wait until May, that's when the Modern AGE Rulebook comes out from Green Ronin. This would be the perfect chance to try it out.
Name: Haydon Age: 26 Timezone: GMT+1 (BST) What do you like about the premise?: Honestly, I love superhero's and I haven't played a superhero roleplaying game before (well beyond a session 0 anyway) so I'd like to give it a go. What don’t you like about the premise?: I don't really have any complaints or issues about what you've posted. Although, if pressed to talk about what I don't want in a super hero campaign, it would probably be a group of mercenary, edge lord style characters in black trench coats. I mean don't get me wrong, I enjoy reading the punisher but a team consisting of 3 punisher's and a deadpool isn't really my idea of a good time. I genuinely prefer games in which characters have morals, and diverse powers and above all actually respect each other. Not just the players but the characters as well.  Why do you think you would enjoy/fit this campaign?: well, I've been roleplaying for probably about 5 years now, so I do have a bit of experience and I like games where people work as a team. Opinion on what system to use: I'll be honest, I'm only familiar with pathfinder and 5e; and I've forgotten most of pathfinder. So I'd probably suggest something either adapted from 5e, or something thats not particularly crunchy so we can focus more on role-play. The only thing I hope is that whatever system you do decide on, its not one where people experienced with that system have an advantage of making mechanically stronger characters than those that aren't. I've been the guy whose new to a system before and had his character outclassed by the game veterans at every opportunity and felt like I couldn't contribute.... it wasn't fun lol. Anyway, if you like my application. feel free to PM me :)
Maybe I should add that less is not more to me. The question are rather open for a reason. There's really nothing that you can say at this point to make me not consider you as a player - this is mostly an interest check after all.
Still open!
