5e or 13th Age

I've been running a number of modules lately and am starting to feel the urge to run a fantasy game of my own design. To that end, I'm curious what the interest level would be for a game on Monday or Thursday evenings starting at 9:30-10pm EST. The system would either be 5e or 13th Age, which I have not played much of and would have to slowly learn while we played but I really like what I've seen from it. My thought would be that the game is not "saving the world" but rather more about exploring, maybe have it be more city-focused where you're maneuvering through the politics of a city (whether that city is part of a bigger government or a free state would be TBD).
Hello, my group of 3 including myself may be interested in the game you are thinking of running if it is 5e, we are PST and wouldn't be able to play until 9:30 EST so your time works well for the 3 of us and we are hoping for weekdays as well since that works better for us. 2 of us want to play identical twin Rogues one of us as a swashbuckler and the other as either shadow or assassin the other has not decided what kind of character they want to play yet
I've never done 13th Age, though I'd be willing to learn it with you, sure. As for 5E, I've been introduced and been playing that for the past year or so, so I'm a little familiar. My group is on hiatus for a while, though, so I'd be interested in whatever you wanna try, really. I'm fond of the strange, mysterious, eerie, occult, etc, but I've played a magic-phobic rake of a rogue as well, so I'm game for whatever :)
I am looking for a Monday game at that time slot if you’re in need of players for 5e!
My knowledge of 5e and Roll20 is fairly limited but I have played and run a lot of 13th Age games and would love to help out. I would be available for either the Monday or Thursday time slot.
I'd be game for 13th age on Thursdays!
I'm interested. Either game, either day. 10pm preferred over 9:30
Those of you interested in a 13th Age game, how much experience do you have? Because I have minimal. I'm just curious if people are going to be able to assist in the rules or if everyone is going to be learning like me. It does look like we have a fair amount of 5e interest too, which is cool.
13th Age is one of those "favorite game I've never had the chance to play" deals for me. I'm familiar with the d20 system, I've made characters for it, but I've never been in actual play. Anyway, I have some character pitches should I make into one of these games: 13th Age: a Tiefling Ranger, built on dual-wielding and the Pet feature. Character is part water-devil, has blue skin, fin-like ears, and a single, shaved down horn. Pet is an octopus that is magically bound to his body and usually sleeps wrapped around him. 5e: Air Genasi Warlock. Pact of the Blade. They just kind of woke up one day, born from an otherworldly fog that seems to be sentient and keeping an eye on them. The issue here is that there's no Elemental Patron for 5e, so I would probably have to reskin something (I think Archfey would work best), or find an unofficial Homebrew online, depending on what the DM would be willing to allow.
I've run multiple campaigns using mainly the core content (I've only recently started branching out into third party material).
So it looks like we have 3 people for 13th Age (and one who'd be willing to learn) and 6 for 5e. I'd really like to try 13th Age. Those who've tried, is it conducive to being in a single location like a City? The game feels very "big" to me, like the party should be galavanting. Is this the case?
There are multiple cities to stage a game in just in the core book. It feels big because our characters are tied to the movers and shakers of the world represented via Relationship Points. It really can scale up or down depending on your needs. For instance, I am currently running a 13th Age game based around an epic journey and only 7 icons. I sent out a couple invites for the game to be on Thursdays at 10pm. Looking for a couple more people.
I've been looking to try 13th Age, having bought the book recently.
