After their run in with the terrifying blood elemental, and the shadowy figure who saved them, the PCs ascend to the surface to return to civilization for a time. For about a weeks time, they role-play their characters traveling between their camp at Krakenshore (Legion landing) and the Otter-folk town of Thistlebrooke. Zhalihend had a new bow crafted, while Krug'Mar forged some sets of Mithril armor. The others helped out the Otter-folk town which now has a stone wall being constructed around its perimeter to keep out the Gnolls and give it a better defensive chance. Meanwhile, the elusive shadow whom had saved the party from a rather nasty encounter, Alenta, watches over them with some kind of ulterior motive. What is he planning? Why is he so interested in watching over them? No one knows. After being contacted by the party's samurai, Yone, who seeks answers and Krug who seeks cleansing of his totem after an encounter with a Mindflayer who cursed him, Alenta gives only riddles and short answers. It would seem that Alenta may be as powerful as he looks but... Who is he ?! The party remains wary of him... Except one... Now, the party has a new companion to help them on their journey as A'Tahka Stormborne, apprentice to Lady Talira and a powerful Storm Sorcerer, seeks to visit the horrible mines with the party in order to investigate a possible resource that could help turn the Unturned's magics against them and negate any demon magic as well from threatening their new home; Glossium . A rare mineral used by witch-hunters and mage killers for years, it has powerful anti-magical properties that could be used for a number of things, including purging some magical weapons the party has found and also cleansing Krug'Mar of his corrupted totem that is slowly killing him. The party encountered no resistance at first reentering the mines, however, they quickly noticed there were no signs of combat or a struggle; all the bodies were gone... As they descend into the mines for a second time, they find even more mystery and growing concern. No bodies can be see anywhere and instead of cave supports and the looks of a used mine like before, the place looks like a normal cave with sand floor that looks to have never been disturbed. Pushing forward, A'Tahka leading the way, they find, in the large chamber they first encountered The Visitor , a lone corpse laying in the middle of the room. The corpse is vaguely humanoid, with a large gaping hole in its chest area. It has no organs, no jaw and its eyes are no longer eyes, just sunken sockets. No blood or evidence of a struggle is apparent in the area and the corpse is cold to the touch. The party deems it very strange, but decided to explore a cave area that they did not before, leaving the corpse behind. They find a large room with many rich veins being mined out and some gibberish written on some papers but other than that, nothing of interest. Returning to the chamber, they suddenly freeze. The body is gone and in its stead, a trail leading towards a door that looks as if something was dragged. A low moan resonates from behind the door and Ava, the party Cleric, deduces that it might be an undead that has now come to life. Readying their blades and weapons, they approach the door to reveal five undead. However, these are not regular undead. They have no organs, their skin is non-existent and they shamble on soupy muscular chunks of flesh for legs with lumps of twisted, rotting fiber for feet. Their eyes glow with the energy of the void, devoid of all life. The one closest to the door turns it horrifying face upon them and lets out a roar that stuns two of the party members. Combat initiates...
