First time making a character

Hey guys! I have NEVER made a character before in D&D before and I need help. I have tried to do it on my own, but I feel like I am lacking something. Calculating points, not putting stuff in the right places, etc. If you could help me, that would be great. Thanks guys, and I hope to here a reply!
Sure! What are the Character Creation rules your DM has set? Do you have a concept in mind that appeals to you? Are you using an excel spreadsheet or an editable pdf?

James, there are many different editions of D&D. Is there a specific one you are interested in? I'm going to move this to the Off-topic forum since it seems to be more geared towards the mechanics of character creation rather than searching for a group.
I am making a Paladin and we are rolling for stats. The edition we are playing ins 3.5 (should have been specific). I also don't know whether it will be in a spreadsheet or a pdf as I don't know which is better. I do have a concept in mind though

if you go with spreadsheets you will need to host it somewhere like googledoc or such but roll20 does support the use of pdf's in the handouts. It takes the first page and turns it into a jpg basically so if you make a one sheet pdf the roll20 handout will be able to store it for in game use.
I am using Mythweavers so anyone can see it, even if I don't upload it to roll20
So if you did put it on mythweavers, we're still going to need the link to see the sheet
hmmm, mythweaver sounds cool, any steampunks there?
The Question said: So if you did put it on mythweavers, we're still going to need the link to see the sheet Yes, I know. The good thing about Mythweavers is that it will always be there, so I can send the link anytime. Do you want the link now? I know for a fact there were GURPS and Savage Worlds sheets available at one time - several of my players used them in those games. The GURPS one had some incorrect point calculation as I recall, but it's likely that's been fixed since.
From what I could tell, the Myth-weavers sheets are all based on specific systems, but they definitely had more than just the D&D editions. It looks like there's a list of all the available character sheet templates on this page: http://www.myth-weavers.com/wiki/index.php/Help:Myth-Weavers:Character_Sheets
Yeah, I know that now. Anyway my character is done. It is on Mythweavers and I have the convenience of simply sending the link to the DM whenever I want to join a game.
