Chat scrolling not functioning

I am having chat window issues in my game.  Essentially, when I launch the game, the chat window shows the earliest chats in its history but with either no scroll bar or a scroll bar that only takes me down a few messages rather than all the way to the newest messages.  If I post new messages or use rolling macros that add to the chat window, I do not get the usual highlighted-tab for the chat window that indicates a new message, and I can not view them.  If however I click the "view all chat entries for this game" button a new tab opens that includes my recent additions.  This is kind of a work around, but it is clumsy as this new tab seems to not be dynamic, and thus I would have to continually click the show all entries option to stay current.

Note, I am using full updated chrome (to my knowledge), I have no interfering extensions that I know of (I have very few extensions in general), and I cleared my cache.  I also tried on firefox and had the same issue.  I also tried clearing current chat log from the launched game options, which does clear the messages, but upon typing a new one just reloads the earliest messages again with the same problem.

Thank you.

Hi Sunwugong,

A game's creator is often able to fix issues with their Text Chat by clearing the Chat Archive (note: not clearing your current Chat Log). A GM might want to copy/back up the Chat Archive before the creator clears it.
Thank you, that seemed to work.  No back up needed as we are just starting out, though I hope this is not a recurring issue.  Also, I appreciate that you phrased your response in Jaqen H'ghar third person form.
