Infinite Macro Loop Crashes Browser

If you call a macro within the macro you can cause an infinite loop and crash the browser. Subsequently causing the game log to potentially be infinitely long.

Wow, nice, this one should be interesting to test. :D Could you give me the exact macro loop that you were using? - Gauss
Initially I was just testing to see if it was even possible: Attack: /roll 1d20 + 5 With Advantage: /roll 1d20 + 5 Damage: /roll 1d8 + 4 Martial Dice: /roll 1d6 #Ultrahammersmash (Macro name) This was enough to crash the video/voice chat for all the players. This was the real doozy we never recovered from: Attack: /roll 1000000000000000000000000000000000d20 + 5 With Advantage: /roll 1d20 + 5 Damage: /roll 1d8 + 4 Martial Dice: /roll 1d6 #Ultrahammersmash (Macro name) -Neal

Ok, I have tried to confirm this and was unable to crash the browser. I have used a macro that called itself and I have used a pair of macros that called each other. Both eventually exited the loop. Is there any information you can provide that might narrow it down? Some further questions: 1) Were you using 3d dice? 2) Was the browser itself crashed? If so did it just hang or was there an error message? If not did just the video/voice crash? 3) Were you on Roll20 or Google+ Hangouts? If you were on Roll20 which video/voice program were you using (Tokbox or WebRTC)? 4) Which server were you on? (Main or Dev) 5) Could you go here: http://supportdetails.com/ and paste the results (except for your IP) please? Thanks. :) - Gauss
1. Yes, I had 3d dice enabled but others did not. 2. Initially Firefox hung, then the video went grey and the voice chat started to make long screeching noise. A few dice showed up on the screen and quickly disappeared then Firefox started to not respond. Eventually a stop script dialog box appeared complaining about jquery, then another dialog after about firebox.js. After that Firefox stopped responding entirely. I waited about a minute or so to see if it would recover and then I just ended the task. I suppose I worded the "crash" part of it wrong. Definitely a long hang. After testing it again and leaving it for a while Firefox eventually started responding but it again crashed the video/voice chat. 3. Roll 20. Tokbox. 4. Main 5. Thanks Neal. Final question before I send this off to the Devs: Can you please reproduce this while your console is open and post the errors that pop up there (in red)? You may have to wait until Firefox starts to respond again in order to copy the console. Here is how to go to the console: At the top of firefox go to Tools -> Web Developer -> Web Console - Gauss
