The mission is complete – Varram is
captured and dragged back to Waterdeep
Book Two, Chapter 1.1 (session 30, 9 th November 2017)
You nearly fell for the sneaky Yuan-ti’s trap but in the end
after a lot of combat and multiple lightning bolts, summonings, failed saves
and falling off ledges defeated the bridge guards behind Diderius’s tomb.
Deciding that that was quite enough of that, you camped in
Dilon’s magical dome for a couple of hours and later that evening Naergon used
his magic powers to spy out the Yuan-ti complex and in so doing found where
Varram was being held.
Not fancying fighting all the monsters he’d seen, a plan was
hatched. Then surprising everyone by successfully following the plan to the
letter, Naergon dimension doored in, grabbed Varram and dimension doored out
before the Yuan-ti could react .
With such an unprecedented success, you then all fled the tomb
and made haste for Boarskyr Bridge and the waiting hippogriff escort.
Several days slog through the arid Serpent Hills and a daylong flight
later, you dismount in Waterdeep.
XP earnt is now irrelevant as the rest of ToD is based on
milestone XP but for those that care you all gain a level sometime between
arriving and departing Waterdeep on the next mission
