Long Term Campaign player wanted.

Hello folks! I'm one of the players in a home-brewed world of 5e; our DM has created a world rich in lore with interesting relationships between creed and continent. We were a 5 man party, but our year long first campaign ended and one of our players had to leave due to schedule conflicts. A new campaign has been started, we just finished the first week, but are happy to bring one new person along for the ride. Be aware, you'd be starting at level 3 if you choose to join us, as we agreed to have a slightly accelerated start to this second campaign as it makes sense lore-wise. The campaign we just ran (on another continent) was pretty high magic, but this new setting is less so (Necromancy is outlawed and the magnificence of science holds sway in much of the land). This new continent is known as Zothar and you can find an extract from some of our campaign info at the bottom of this post if you want to know a bit more. What are we looking for?   The two main things are consistency and enthusiasm. We don't mind if you're inexperienced as we have several people, including myself, that can help out. This second campaign we're playing up the RP and so expect you to talk, at least some of the time, in character (normal voice is fine if not comfortable with an inflection/accent). Game time is always 9pm GMT Sundays (3pm EST). This was chosen due to having a mix of American and European players. Current Party? Gaspard - Male human rogue/fighter Patriot 3 (P3) - Warforged Paladin Salem - Male human Ranger Le'o - Male elf Rogue (temporary guest) As you can see, it's a pretty low magic group of male characters at the moment (pretty sure our warforged is male, but I haven't asked lol). We don't have any prerequisite for a 5th, but it'd be nice to round our the party a bit with some AOE or Healing. Again though, this isn't a demand. If you are interested, please either leave a message here or PM me for more information. We don't need much info from you, but a little bit about your experience with DND would be useful, as well as any ideas you had for a character (just to make sure it fits with the team/world).  Thanks for taking the time to read this and hope to see one of you in game soon! ======== Zothar Info 1. Necromancy is outlawed in Zothar. Anyone practicing that section of magic is to be arrested immediately. More often than not if found guilty, the person is put to death. 2. Northern Zothar has had trade with Koz Ra while Southern Zothar has had trade with Kagrenac. This split of trade has caused a strange split of science to the north and magical studies to the south. There is a large wall to separate the two which funnels immigration through the border. 3. There are 3 major factions. The United Northern Federation (UNF), the Empire of Aslan (EoA (Pronounced Ee owa the south), and the Justicars of Life and Ending (Jolae pronounced Joe Lay) 4. When someone has died it is required to perform last rights and for most this is the first thing taught to them. When someone died here they are reanimated to become an undead thing if this does not happen. This is due to a curse on the soil of Zothar. 5. Back when Zothar was one united kingdom the royal family sent of their children off to find the secret to everlasting life so that the ruling family could live forever. They found a necromantic ritual that would allow for them to live forever. By staging rite stone all across the land then performing the ritual under a blood moon they were able to do it. Unfortunately it had an effect they did not anticipate. All the dead started to rise and a large scale war was started. After completion Necromancy was outlawed and the Last Rite ritual became mandated.
Hello! While I most often play healers, I am a Rookie at best. I often play with my husband with a PHB costantly in front of me in real life, and have played a few on and off sessions of different healers. I've played a tiny bit of Druid and Cleric and I'm wanting to know how long your guy's sessions go for if you don't mind me asking? If the looks of things a Cleric from the South may be of good use, or perhaps a Sorcerer? Though I've never delved too hard into the real magic classes. Cheers!

Edit: still looking for someone, thought we had found someone, but turned out schedule wouldn't work. If anyone wants to speak real time feel free to add me on discord, Azmodian#7143
reopened, see above.
currently speaking to a couple of people, but the position is still open. For the sake of clarity in what we're looking for. I've already outlined that we're looking for enthusiastic and reliable players, but to extrapolate on the RP side of things, we're not exactly method actors, but we do dip into RP between our characters and with our DM's NPC's reasonably often and would expect the same of whoever our newest player is. The setting is within a High-Fantasy world, but the continent we're on is more on the High-Gothic/Low-Magic side of things. On top of that, the Justicars are essentially a bunch of anti-undead inquisitors, set up after the collapse of the land into the foul undead pit of filth it has become. Victorian era (ish) weapons exist, such as flintlock pistols and the like, but it's still predominantly a typical 5e land. If you want to make a character fit into the Justicars, its likely you'd be one of the common world races and that you would be sane enough to pass the rigorous testing they are put through before being allowed out to protect the cities against the undead horror. I am happy to answer any questions, but questions about the above have been the most common. Thanks!
Hey,  I sent you a friend request on discord.  Hoping to talk to you a bit.
Also sent you a friend request so that we can talk about this. Thanks.
Im definitely interested! I am really hoping to join group who is more interested in RP'ing than the current campaign I am in. I tend to be the one who initiates most of the RP and it gets a little exhausting. My discord is Pestilence#8345 and I would love to hear more if the position isnt filled!
Hey! Sent a fr on discord. Been dming 5e for about 5 years, would love to be a player for a change. Lmk if theres a spot open :)
Just to update - we have a player we are trialing on Sunday. If things don't work out I will contact those who registered interest. Thanks!
It sounds like my forge domain dwarven cleric. I'm currently playing an inquisitor and reaking holy fire to purge the land of cultist.
Trialed one person for 2 weeks but we have parted ways (amiably!) so still looking for someone. Our session includes a few homebrew rules, such as critical failures (for both PCs and NPCs). Please be aware of this and feel free to ask any further questions about it. A quick example would be our ranger uses pistols, that can jam, break or even explode if unlucky enough; on the flip side this can happen for enemies too and examples have ranged from weapons getting stuck in walls, falling prone and hitting an ally.
Hey, I'm very interested if you still have a spot open, I'm slightly newer to DnD but have a long history of loving RPGs(DnD likes and otherwise). Only issue from what I read might be that I do generally play Rogue/Rogue Bard and you do seem to have a couple Rogues already. Besides that, it sounds like a good fit! Love to hear from you, thanks.
Hi, I would be keen if you are looking for another player. I like the strong framework and practical nature of the setting you described. I generally only play casters these days, being 'too old' (aka played D&D for a very long time) for the melee types.
I sent you a discord message!
San/the B feel free to msg me on discord when about (link in the post just above)
Hello I,m new to playing on the site, but i have discord and in 27. I have played 3.5e for about 4 years and 5e for about 2 years. I would be looking to play a druid summoner primarily but with the option of heals as necessary for proper party cohesion.
I am interested in joining. I’ve been playing as a Warlock in a 2 year campaign (5e) and have played on roll20 as a storm sorcerer. I enjoy playing Magic users and have an idea for a cleric build. He would be sworn to destroy undead, and have an ultimate goal of breaking the curse of the Zothar soil. This quest may be a fool’s errand, but no one has yet to convince him beyond a shadow of a doubt that it can’t be done, so he has hope.  One question about outlawing necromancy, is it the school of magic that is outlawed, or the act of raising/reanimating the dead? Specifically, I’m asking about Spare the Dying for combat medic-type actions.
Any spell that involves necromantic power is outlawed. Doesn't mean you can't do it, but we'd instantly turn on you if detected. This means that regular methods of resurrection will likely not happen without a lot of persuasion/drama ;) However, there may be alternative means to achieve it, but we have not yet discovered them.
Hey, I added you on discord, Morgan.
Heya again people. We have trialed a couple of people now, but nothing is set in stone yet. We were going to trial another person tonight, but they told us they won't be here this weekend. It's a bit last minute, but if someone wants to trial with us tonight I can help fill them in on what we're looking for (although most of what we need is already in this post). I will be on discord most of the day (also further up the post) and will want to speak with you asap so we can set about making the character for tonight's session.  There's 8 hours from the time of this post to when we start, so should be ample to make it (and I am happy to help if desired!).
Hello, I am interested in joining your group. I have been playing since 4 edition. I am usually in multiple campaigns either as a player or a gm. I actually prefer magical classes. I love roleplaying though I still feel like a novice when it comes to that. I can play today if you want me.
I would love to join. I'm GMT and love playing a fighter. Maybe an eldritch knight? :)
Still looking for a reliable 4th, we have a part-time one at the moment, but would prefer a solid 4th and have a part-time 5th :)
Sadly, seems I came rather late for this thread. I'm an invested player that wants to be with a group that's committed to playing and more in to narrative but I'm not a fan of joining a campaign mid-way in. I'd be happy to join if you guys want to start a new campaign.
I'm brand new to the game but I have a fair amount of time on my hands and a lot of eagerness to learn and do whatever at this point.  Basically anything I can get sounds good to me and more than likely I can commit to longer term if people can be patient with my inexperience.  I promise I'm a quick learner!
I'm lacking in experience, but pick up on things quick. So if you have an opening still let me know.
Is this still open? If so, I'd like to play! I'm quite new to D&D, but I learn quick. I enjoy RP, so this seems fun!
I am really interested in playing within this world and would love to partake in the trials. I have sent a friend request on discord!  Regarding prerequisites of the sort, I have a VERY flexible schedule regarding times and can meet the times always. With the campaign itself, I am a new player that has watched a lot of content but I have not yet participated in a long campaign but would love too. I am willing to learn more and mold according to the parties needs like my class. I absolutely love to RL so, I am highly interested!
