How to move character token w/HP etc from map to map, best practice?

Hi, So I am not sure how to make this work. Lets say I have fighter on map #1. He takes some damage and goes from 12hp to 8hp. The red bar changes and everything is good. Then they move to map #2. Is there a way to link things such that when they drag their token from their character sheet to the map on the next map that all the stuff like HP levels move over with them? Thanks, EtE
If the token is linked to a journal and the hp bar is linked to that journal, it will work map to map.
Ok, I dug a bit more and saw I had to link the HP bar to the HP field on the sheet. However, if I drag the character onto a new map everything is reset until I point it to the sheet again which seems counter-intuitive (Hey, that was a pun!). So I need to set up character tokens on each map ahead of time or is there some other method the generate them into the next map retaining the tokens setting from the previous map?

You need to have the token all set up prior to making it the default token. When you make it default it makes a snapshot of that image as it is right then and stores it as default.
Ahhhh Yes.. that makes sense. Thanks!
This is what works for me: 1) Build character sheet in journal with HP, Fatigue, whatever you need to track on the token 2) Set down the token you want to use, set it up to associate with the character sheet, add the variables you want to track in the bars 3) With the token selected, go to the character sheet and use the selected token as default A side benefit of this I've found is if you have a token you need to resize by changing it to a drawing, stretching, and changing it back to a token, when you drag the character sheet onto the map the resizing stays with the token so you don't need to fiddle with it every time you place it down.
