Questions about running Masks of Nyarlathotep

Hello there, my name is Isaac and I am a Keeper who is running a Call of Cthulhu 7th Edition in Roll20 with some additional features from Pulp Cthulhu. Currently, my players have played for 2 months now, starting with The Haunting, then Crimson Letters, now they are in the middle of Escape From Innsmouth, and I am planning to run Masks of Nyarlathotep as the next big campaign. I would like to organize the campaign first, so that the players can jump straight into Masks after finishing Escape and Raid. The thing is that I have read in the forums and some of the companion guide that Masks of Nyarlathotep could take a year or more to run, that would be a problem for me and my players because we don't have a lot of time. My question is, would it work if I only run 2/3 or half of the campaign? Maybe use only some of the locations e.g. New York, London, Cairo, and end it in Kenya/China? If not, would there be a way to cut a few parts of the campaign, and which parts/locations would you suggest that I cut?
You definitely could cut it down. I think you would be missing out on the awesomeness of the complexity of the campaign in its glorious entirety, but if you need to, pick your 3-4 favorite "places". You'll have to be careful to remove clues to the locations you cut, and limit what the overall villainous plot involves. If I had to make deep cuts, I would cut Australia and China (and any of the "side quest" type stuff anywhere else), and have the climactic ending occur at the Mountain of the Black Wind in Kenya. This would limit the globe trotting nature of the overall story, and limit the "Masks" and associated cults involved.  New York->only main story parts of London->only main story parts of Cairo->only main story parts of Kenya
