[LFP] Battletech: A Time of War RPG (+ Megamek) interest check/group finding. NEW MECHWARRIORS WANTED!

Hey, with the new game having been released and some buzz for MWO I thought I might fish around for any interest in the Battletech: A Time of War RPG. For those not familair, it is essentially the latest version of the old "Mechwarrior" RPG.  There's no abstract storygaming here. "A Time of War", and the Total Warfare/Tactical Operations/etc. wargame system are so granular that it's a wonder the PDFs aren't a silo explosion risk. It's so grognard-y that it still remembers the sound of Napoleon's voice. We're talking life paths, dozens of skills, random equipment tables, the works. It's a bit of a mess but I love it and the universe it is set in. And I love mechs. And tanks, and dropships, and even the poor bloody infantry. So I want to run a game of this stuff. I have run the game before but my experience with Battletech in general is still not great. I'm looking for any expressions of interest. Anyone with the courage to face this crazy game and its attendant kudzu-like mountain of convoluted backstory alongside me is welcome. The era and affiliation will be whichever the majority of players want to play. The most likely time that I would be able to run would be a weekday night, unfortunately. (central standard time) Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights will be difficult. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings would be ideal. I am envisioning this as a game played in the Roll20 client with VOIP through discord. My discord is "Charge Your Telephone Beam#2549".
I have interest for this. I can do wednesday and thursday out of the days you mentioned though would probably prefer thursdays. I haven't read the rules yet though I did got a time of war not too long ago so it should be fairly simple to get through the rules. I don't really have a huge knowledge of battletech, just a superficial knowledge and as for the era I'd prefer after the clans cause clan mechs are awesome and a lot of lost technology is already recovered anyway. It will all depend on the time which you are thinking of runing the game, if it's not too late for me then I'm in.

Basically any time works for me on Thursdays from morning 'til night. The three broad eras in which Clan characters will be appearing are (of course) the Clan Invasion era, which is 3050-3060 and focused on the clans vs. Inner Sphere conflict; the FedCom Civil War era which is 3062-3065 and involves the Clans occupying and interacting with the IS in a less organized fashion, as well as fighting some major civil wars; and the Jihad era, 3067-3081, which is too convoluted to sum up in a sentence or two but basically involves the Inner Sphere and the Clans being decimated by wide-ranging wars touched off by two separate and unrelated groups of evil fanatical ideologues (the Word of Blake and Clan Steel Viper, respectively).  Naturally, A Time of War has appropriate life modules, traits and so on for Clan Characters, and by default you have to be one in order to start with any of their technology.  Regardless of the specific era, generally the best clans for playable characters to be from are those which are active in the Inner Sphere in some capacity, and which are not the Smoke Jaguars (who are both canonically doomed and a bunch of rather one-dimensional berserkers that everybody else hates.
To be honest I'm not expecting to be part of a clan or inner sphere specifically cause I'm expecting us to be some sort of merceneries. It's really hard to put up a campaign otherwise since all would have to then belong either to the same clan or house. I just prefer a time where basically all technology is available. Not necessarely from the onset but at least through salvage and whatnot. The FedCom civil war probably seems like one of the most interesting points to start although it's also possible to just go past the Jihad era and just do our own thing. That way there is no need to follow events already in canon which is better for people who are not fully knowledgeable about battletech. I am ok for any time on thursday starting from 6pm GMT though would prefer not to start later than 11pm for obvious reasons.
I'm interested.  I'm a big Mechwarrior fan.  If you put something together, hit me up.
PDT (GMT -7)  I'd be interested in playing a crunchy.  Wednesday eves are best but probably can arrange for other days...
I don't know the system and I am still learning the dark ages, but  count me intrested
I am interested if you can do evening play starting around 8 PM central and don’t mind taking someone who’s never played the system.
Not having played the system is fine, and though it isn't super-complicated to play (at least until mechs and things get involved) beware that character creation can be kind of intimidating. I'd remind everyone there's no shame in taking one of the pre-generated character templates as a starting point and then adding a bit.
Oh tabletop battletech I can handle, been playing that since the AC 5 was called The Autocanon and was the only option. I simply have not looked over AToW or really up to date on the DA timeline
We've got a nice full group now, thanks for all the interest, everyone! I'll post again if any slots open up as a final day is settled on.
