I've had really bad experiences with brutal DMs(I've been told they aren't all like that?) and I have not been able to grow and learn as a player because of it. So now I'm looking for a group with a DM that isn't just out to kill everyone as much as possible or has one or two people who can do whatever they want while everyone else is just there to be put through a gauntlet of hell without purpose. Not sure if that is asking too much but I'm trying. I am a fun and very flexible person and get along with just about anyone. I am interested in D&D 5E but I am willing to learn something new if someone is willing to help me through it. I am looking for something on weekends, any time is fine. Thanks in advance.
