Hex Map Question

In one of my campaigns a few years ago we used a hex map.  In that I created a token that was just an edge.  I could then basically put it down on hex map section B1 and it would give an edge to the map square and I would then leave it as a tokens so I could make comments while not actually touching the map.  So I had a blue one indicating it was clear and could make notes you can in a token, a red one indicating there was something there, and another color indicating there was something special. Starting back up again we are doing the same type of map but I can't remember how I created the token.  It is on the old map but I can't save it into my library so that I can use it on another campaign.  Is there a way to do it?  The new campaign is another person's account so it would be nice to be able to somehow save it and give it to him so that he can use it in his campaign.
If it's the graphic itself that you're trying to capture for your library, I think select it and SHIFT-Z.  Then you can right-click on it and save/copy it.
That was what I needed to save them.  Thank you.
