Your unit is assigned to the destroyed US 5th Division in Poland in the last battle of World War 3.  As your division is being overrun, the final communication to you from Command is "Good Luck, you're on your own".  Your road home will be a difficult one and what will you find when you get home?  Governments have fallen.  Infrastructure is decimated.  Electricity and Oil have disappeared. Disease and famine are rampant.  Local Warlords and Military Deserters terrorize the remaining civilian populations.  What would you do as civilization collapses? Survive at any cost? Help rebuild?  Carve out your own empire?  You'll have the firepower to do it.   Twilight 2000 is an RPG in a very unique, hyper-realistic, environment, .  It has a military theme, using military vehicles and modern military weapons from nations around the world.  If this sounds interesting to you, let me know. Looking for 2 more players. Once a week game tentatively playing on Tuesday nights starting at  6-8 pm US Mountain Time.   Here's the timeline: 2019 - The US pulls all troops out of Europe due to European resistance to paying costs for troops stationed there 2020 - An aggressive Russian leader, the lack of US presence and a Russian economy crippled by depressed oil prices due to the world wide oil glut, Russia invades and subjugates the Ukraine.  2021 - Under the threat of Russian invasion and weak NATO support, Poland and Romania capitulate to the Russians.  US troops return to European soil.  2022 - Increasing rhetoric from the US President leads to a skirmish along the Polish border, which escalates out of control to a full confrontation between NATO and Russian armies. Russian tank, troop and artillery advantages smash NATO lines as Russia takes Berlin, driving deep into Germany towards France and Northern Italy.  Though resisted at first by Germany, use of Tactical Nukes is authorized by NATO.  French, German, British and reinforced US Armies counterattack in coordination with surprise tactical nuclear strikes to push the Russians back east of Berlin. Russians counter with tactical nuclear strikes and limited nuclear strikes against US and European cities.  US and European Allies retaliate against Russian cities.  Fearing an untouched China on their border, Russia launches a preemptive nuclear strike against China.  Strategic assets of other neutral countries are targeted by all sides.  2023 - Warfare rages without gain in central Germany and along the China/Russia border.  China retakes Taiwan. The US declares war on China to support it's ally.  The US Pacific Fleet is devastated by overwhelming Chinese air strikes.  The Atlantic and Mediterranean Fleets suffer heavy losses to anti-naval missiles and tactical nukes.  Russia's submarine fleet is decimated in the North Atlantic GUIK gap.  Japan, South Korea and Vietnam are targeted by Chinese nuclear missiles.  India and Pakistan launch nuclear strikes against one another.  The Middle East is set ablaze by the 5th Arab/Israeli war.  Winter reaches record low temperatures. 2024 - Civil unrest across the globe rises as Governments capabilities are diminished.  War rages on with no decisive victor in Europe, Asia and the Middle East.  Logistics and command & control capabilities become strained to the breaking point.  Winter sets new record lows.   2025 - The final offensive of the war.  A combined US and German invasion of Poland results in destruction of the US 5th Division near the city of Lodz and the isolation of the German 3rd Army and US 11th Corp on the Baltic Coast.  The Russian counter-attack faces internal resistance as an increasing number of divisions refuse commands or outright disintegrate into mobs of deserters.  Cities are declaring themselves free from association with any government.  Military groups have established their own independent states within former country boundaries.   Permission for use has been granted by Marc Miller, Far Future Enterprises.

What time zone are you in.  Warhammer was created by Games Workshop, a British company. Games Designers Workshop who created Twilight 2000 was a US company.

Awesome.  That makes two.  I'm working on the roll20 template right now, so we won't be able to start for a while.  A week at least.
I've never played the system, but willing to learn. It seems interesting to play.

Yay, we have 3.  It's the environment more than the game system.  You'll have all modern US equipment and vehicles you wish to take, which can be fun by itself (pumping a javelin missile into a group or on top another tank is satisfying).  But the fall of governments, the rise of anarchy, populations 1/10 of what we have now.  Throw in famine and other challenges and it's much like The Walking Dead, except you might have a tank (if you can keep it fueled and running) and replace zombies with cannibals.  Cannibals will be rare, but a possibility as the campaign goes on.   Oh, and technically, there's still a war going and the mission is to persecute that war (if you wish).  And with Google maps, OMG, you can be in Poland.
Hey man, Same as Devon to be honest. I'd love to be part of it, if i can squeeze in. So we would play army man right ? Any speciality that we would want to ?

You would play a team at start.  There will be NPCs already in group or joining group and it has mass combat rules, so there's a chance during the campaign that your group grows into a small army.  Specialties are many and varied, from Combat Navy (Marines->Seals) to Army (Armor, Arty or Infantry) then possibly rangers or green berets.  There's specialist roles also, including mechanics, doctors, etc.   Now we have 4 so yes you are more than welcome.   I'm in US Mountain time.  Game will be once per week (minimum), time To Be Determined.  We'll use discord for voice.  I'll send out an invite to everyone for the game and I can do a session 0 with you all to setup your characters.   Again though, the template needs work and I'm a few days to a week away from finishing it.
No problem for me, and i'll be happy to. Thanks man !
Sounds good to me, are there any core rules or such we can look over online to kind of familiar ourselves with it or is it mostly homebrew rules and such?

There are core rules.  I'll need to create a google drive share and post within game forum.  The core rules are staying intact for the most part but I will be modifying the semi-auto full-auto fire rules.  I'll get game invite/drive share to you by tonight.
Will we be using anything from the other books like the infantry weapons of the world or the Heavy Weapons handbook?

We'll be doing Version 2.  I have both versions.  T2000 and T2000v2.   Yes, we'll be using T2 versions of Heavy Weapons, etc...If there's something from V1, we can bring that in too.

There is one but you cant add custom skills to each category. This is mostly an issue with fan additions.Though if i remember right if you attempted to run merc 2000 or the special operations book its missing the skills in those books if i remember correctly.

I haven't played since high school in the mid-90s.  What time and frequency do you plan on playing?

To Be determined.  Best time for all involved.  At least once per week.
Ah ha, I couldn't do 1x per week.  Good luck getting it together! :)
This sounds interesting, I would love to join if you have the room still!

Still looking for 1-2 more.
So many guns...  I loved this game as a kid. Would join if I weren't just starting up a big new campaign for another game.
I tried running this as V2 last year. Could never find players. Good luck with it. One of my favorite game systems.
Im interested. But i need to know what day its on. My schedule is kinda populated at the moment. I'd be up for playing it as a kind of political/spy type, maybe as a medic or a psych warfare specialist, maybe as an American of British decent. This is to be a sandbox game right? So if we wanted to move operations around the map, and take down entire city-governments we could do that right?

@Pardalis66 - I'm running v2 and same issues.  Twilight isn't fantasy nor space. It's definitely different.   @Tracers N. - Thursday or Monday nights.  It's very sandbox.  You wouldn't bring down Governments as they've already fallen.  In their wake are Warlords which could be infiltrated.  The group doesn't have a CIA or DIA or MI6 agent yet and could really use one.  Let me know.  .

@Victor B. For me it would have to be Thursdays. Mondays i work late. But yeah i'd like to join. Ive been looking for a sandbox set in the modern world where i could play a noble of some sort. PM me a link or whatever. Is there a dischord?
Again, good luck, seems like you got a lot of enthusiasm going. I am running Star Trek Adventures, or else, i  would apply.
I could do Thursday if it's after 10pm CST. I don't know if that's too late for your plans. Monday could be cool. Might be fun to revisit the gritty apocalypse.

Is this game still accepting players?
Thursday should work for me. I never heard of this game before but it looks like a lot of fun. Particularly since it is so hard to find decent realistic war games going. Hit me up if you still have room, or if you want a guy on standby. Either way, have fun and good luck!
Interested, if schedule friendly. Wed,Thurs (only after 9pm CST). Mon, Tues work (CST after 7p only)
