Players connecting without accounts

It said in the documents that only the GM needs an account, that players only need the table link. But my players have been unable to connect without an account. So, is an account required even for players?
They can just choose a name and password when that screen pops up. Check this thread: http://community.roll20.net/discussion/comment/1822#Comment_1822 , and consider up-voting it to draw the developers' attention.
Thanks. Just voted.
Right now the logic in the player accounts is basically so that we can keep track of what tokens you've assigned to them, what macros they create, etc. between play sessions. (Agemegos' suggestion, though, that we polish the language is probably worth us getting into at some point!)
It seems like a simple communication problem. The player doesn't need to make an account ahead of time. That's nice. I recommend altering the verbiage used and drop "doesn't need an account" and replace it with "rapid sign up from your GM's email to join" or some such.
