Salutations! I'll be running a Storm King's Thunder homebrew campaign, wherein the module will only be used as loose inspiration and a template. Giants understandably remain the primary focus of the setting but the players will establish the narrative direction and progression. If this campaign piques your interest, here is a link to the LFG listing. We will be rolling for Ability Scores: 4d6 drop the lowest, with the cumulative total required to equal or exceed 70. Please note this game will require payment to the Game Master at a monthly rate of $10/player. Roll20 is not responsible for any payment transactions and cannot enforce any private arrangements. Below, I'll enumerate several custom mechanical and narrative features: An optional 1st level Feat without any prerequisite aside from a transformational encounter with Giants. This feat, titled Daitya Jiva (or Giant-Born), confers astonishing, arcane abilities or traits to your characters; the specific power is dictated by the Giants themselves, with each of the six lineages "birthing" a different theme tied to their elemental attributes. A stratified social hierarchy offering slight mechanical advantages alongside narrative expansion. You may choose or roll for your social class; this hierarchy is ideologically fluid but practically rigid, allowing characters to maneuver through its five orders using personal narratives. NPCs will respond differently to your actions, akin to Telltales' "remembrance" mechanic; the consequences, however, are neither predetermined nor terminal. You can forge enduring alliances or bitter enmities merely by playing into or departing from your social order's expected decorum. No one will be punished mechanically for their narrative actions: if you upset 35 NPCs, another 45 will applaud your actions. A rich, expansive, inclusive culture wherein every published Race is represented—you can choose to play the Monstrous Races enumerated in Volo's Guide to Monsters. Every city or town or village carries a different atmosphere; a port city might joyously supply a nearby Goblin settlement with rations and goods, whereas a rigidly conservative Elven town dismisses all Half-Elves as illegitimate. Multiple religions offering background narratives and auxiliary narrative expansion. Your character might stalwartly follow one of the two "noble" religions, or rebelliously disseminate the philosophies of an atheistic tradition. The gods' existence is highly debated and indeterminable, but the power of faith is tangible and motivating. Religion is not just for Clerics or Paladins; your characters are living, breathing manifestations of your imaginations. During Session 0, a Campaign Bible will be distributed to all players; this document contains several mandatory readings pertinent to character creation, while the other sections are entirely optional —offering more information about the setting, history, and lore. Please ensure you have working headphones and a working microphone; we will use Voice only. Additionally, please ensure you have Discord installed. If you have any inquiries, please post them in the Inquiries discussion in the game listing; Private Message me; or contact me via Discord: darren#2031 Thank you, and happy gaming!
