Welcome Ye Heroes

There was a time long ago when Toril's soil was soft and the animals feared not thy shadow. During this era, a guild of renown adventurers walked upon this land. They came from the greatest cities, meekest hamlets and every where in between. They were of all races. They were bladesmen and arcanists alike. This band were known as "Sword's Edge."   While their prosperous exploits were innocent enough, as days passed, all of it changed. The wealth, glory and joy they acquired also came with a curse; knowledge. Sword's Edge were caught between many conflicts, and tried to assist in keeping the sanctity of what they once stood for in tact. But because fate is fickle, the influential guild itself split into two rivalries. That of the "True Blades" (known for their kind hearts and civility) and the "Adders"  (those that favored business, enterprise and/or greed).  Between the many cities where their guild houses stood, the two factions fought. The conflict seemed endless, but through a long passage of arms the issue was settled. The Adders were vanquished, and the remaining True Blades gathered their wealth and retired. The doors to every Sword's Edge guild house were closed. They were never heard from again...until today. You have opened an envelope with the official Sword's Edge seal. It has invited you to come to the grounds of one of their remaining guild houses along the Sword Coast. So, you pack your bag and follow the primitive map for what ever reason you desire. What awaits you is still to be determined. Perhaps you are destined to be the next great adventurer of Sword's Edge or more? ****************************************************************************************************************** Hello, I am a veteran role player, nerd and author looking to start a 5th edition game with other like-minded players. This game will be free. It will have high-adventure, strong plot and fun for all. I'm mostly looking for people that are in it for the theatre of role playing, camaraderie, and innocent fun. I favor strong character backstories, and will use them in plot. I don't tolerate trouble making and arguing. I'm targeting 6 players, but 2 are for insurance as schedules can conflict. We will still play as long as we have at least 4 players show up on scheduled days. If you're interested, please provide the following... Name:  Age: Role Playing Experience:  Starting Character Idea (2 or 3 sentences at least):  Can You Consistently Play on Fridays at 5PM and/or Sundays at Noon (and which do you prefer)?

I'll tentatively dip my toe in on this and see how it shakes out, besides it seems like a good chance to toss a character I enjoy in. Name : Jadon Age : 31 Roleplaying Experience : 20 years of various types and system, experience with every dungeons and dragons system except 4E, plus a smattering of smaller systems. Character : Korax, the Beast in Black Class : Barbarian Race : Variant Human (My own scribbly sketch and bad scanner, alas now dead) Origin : Korax hails not from this world, but a place Beyond. A place of Ice and Stone, where the People of the Rock roamed the plains in freedom and comfort, before the Time of Rending, before the Rift. His people were the unknowing victims of their neighbors, a brutal theocracy whom reached beyond their realm for power and instead doomed their world, undoing the Ancient Seals that protected the Land of Ice and Stone from the predations of the Outer Planes. The People of the Rock were set upon by the inhabitants of The Rift, a portal torn asunder in their land by the denizens of the Abyss, demons and hellish monstrosities pouring through to ravage the land in blood and agony. The people however peaceful, were not weak. They were strong. They fought back, and discovered they could use the blood of fiends to empower their warriors. Making the blood and bones of fallen demons into ink and needles, they bred a caste of warriors whom would wear the demon's blood as tattoos and ritual scarification, allowing them to draw upon the unholy fury of the Damned in return. They fought monsters, and to do so, they created monsters of their own.  Korax was one of these warriors, trained from birth to be a monster built to fight worse monsters, sacrificing all companionship and comfort for eternal battle and bloodshed. Through a twist of fate, he may also be the last. A finality had come to their battles with the demon hordes and their foothold in the Land of Ice and Stone, and he among many of his brothers and sisters were at that battle, tooth against sword, fist to claw; he was at ground zero when he and a brace of other heroes of The People brought the battle to the Demon's own leader, destroying it's focus at a key moment, the resulting explosion leveling the area, wiping many of the People's heroes out... and ripping Korax and the demonic sorcerer through time and space as the fizzled Gate  spell backfired. Korax ended up alone in the Outlands, and through dogged determination and grit, traveled through the planar wastes until he happened upon a small settlement. They fed and tended to him, told the faceless warrior of the great and terrible City of Doors, Sigil. Through cunning and trade, Korax found his way to the City of Doors, and in time he found himself seeking a way home. None knew the way, but knew of a place that may someday take him there. Through great trials, he found himself again flung through the planes... landing anew upon Toril, in the Sword Coast, with his only guiding words being 'Seek the Wytchlaran, they will show you the long road home.' Can You Consistently Play on Fridays at 5PM and/or Sundays at Noon (and which do you prefer)?: I can theoretically make either, but the Fridays is less likely to have me bleary-eyed and grouchy.
Name: Bobby Lee     Age: 38 Role Playing Experience: I've been playing since my stepdad taught me to play 1E 30 years ago so I'd stop breaking his minis. I've played every edition of D&D, along with sundry other systems. Starting Character Idea (2 or 3 sentences at least): Sharic. A Wizard, undecided on race as of yet. An eccentric arcane caster with a predilection for carved bone fetishes, believing them to attract good fortune and lucky spirits. (I'm brushing up on 5E lore, and this section will be expanded) Can You Consistently Play on Fridays at 5PM and/or Sundays at Noon (and which do you prefer)? Sundays at Noon I could make consistently, Fridays at 5 is less optimal.
