You make your way into the abandoned camp. Near the statue is a  crude animal pen with a large, panicked bird running around inside it. There are no other signs of life. You poke through the tents, but most of them are at the point of disintegration due to mildew and rot. You note that many have slash marks in the canvas that look as if they were either made by claws or weapons. There is nothing of particular interest in them. You also explore a burnt out shrine where you find a silver holy symbol of Torm among the wreckage.  In between the legs of the statue a passageway goes into the side of the hill. You decide to explore this passage and in short order find a pit trap (the hard way). You go back out to find planks to place over the pits, but find some strange creatures setting up an ambush for you. They had assumed you would be in there longer. They are batari goblins and they form into battle stacks to fight with you.  The action of the fight scares the bird in the pen terribly, and it squawks loudly. You then hear answering squawks coming from deep in the jungle as the juvenile Axe-Beak attracts the attention of adult birds. By this time the goblins are losing the fight so they retreat, blowing their horns loudly. The cacophany of noise from the goblins and the Axe-Beaks attracts more attention, and zombies and skeletons dressed in the rotting and rusted armour of the Order of the Gauntlet start stumbling into the jungle. Denny releases the juvinile Axe-Beak and then you all retreat - Denny and B'urp climbing up the side of the statue and the rest of you rushing into the passageway again. B'urp notices that the remaining 3 goblins are destroying one boat, and then they push the other boat out into the water and start paddling away. With a mighty leap, B'urp leaps into the boat and starts fighting the 3 goblins. Meanwhile the adult Axe-Beaks emerge from the jungle and start smashing the camp apart.  Their attention is then drawn by the skeletons and zombies and they attack them. Apart from B'urp, the rest of you go deeper into the passageway, finding more traps (the hard way) and puzzles to try and find what lies at the end. You manage to solve the difficulties without dying (just), and are rewarded with an obviously magic item. You leave as the statue collapses in on itself. By this time B'urp has defeated the goblins, and the axebeaks have defeated the undead. You wait a short time until the Axebeaks return to the jungle, then B'urp rows to shore as you meet in the camp to examine your spoils.
