You make your way back to the inn that you were told about. Big Fungi Inn & Pub. Run by some dwarves from Sehe, far to the south and some of their stout halfling cousins, you all are welcomed in. The Inn is littered with paintings and statues from Sehe, depicting the great kingdom of Under-Sehe where dwarves and halflings are from. They settled in Kytt because the kobolds of Kytt have locally grown mushroom and fungi farms, something the Bloodfoot family relies on to make many of their family dishes and brews. When they arrive, word has already started getting out you are staying there. Apparently Welsidrish had word sent immediately to the fight master (Yurk-ta-dess) that their group had named you all their champions, should the Champions of Kytt agree. As you enter the inn and pub, people are already celebrating that you are staying at their inn. The proprietor, Elaine Bloodfoot (stout halfling), has tripled the prices on everyone’s dishes but yours. People from the inn are of all variety of races, with absolutely no dragonborn in attendance. People from every other race has shown up to potentially see or meet these would-be champions, heroes of Dravens’ Port. Word on the street is that while humans and humanoids occasionally square off with the Champions of Kytt, never in the history of the games have clanless dragonborns been allowed to fight and then went on to name non-Kytts to champion them . Even without you all being the heroes of Dravens Port, this is a historic occasion. Elaine, the proprietor, is a young and attractive looking halfling, but the amount of attention they are getting by the time you arrive has already caused her some stress. She looks strong and tough of spirit. She waves your fees, telling you “You people are a blessing, I thank Welly (the black dragonborn) for sending you our way. However, she didn’t send you our way because she wanted me to get rich off of it.” You all have a fine dinner. Ailekk talked to some Aarakocra in the pub, getting the names of local taverns with more traditional Aarakocra food. Rurrick was approached by a short, dumpy dwarf with a bird on his should. The dwarf, named Alden, said Rurrick’s true last name was Roarenshale, and seemed to have some knowledge of Rurrick’s past. The party enjoyed their dinner and socializing. Elaine then showed the party to their quarters. You go down 10 - 20 flights of stairs into a subterranean inn area. She shows you to the master suite. She says, “In Sehe, this is the best of the best. The room is a decent size, with smaller rooms, a dining area stocked with booze, and a balcony that overlooks under-Kytt. You see on various floors and areas around you are other balconies. Her face gets serious. “You came with Yee-Rup. People think you might win. The dragonborn might be arrogant, but he isn’t. Believe it or not, Yee-Rup isn’t as well liked as he’d have people think. Neszys’ name is known much better amongst the kobolds, since the red dragonborn were all stripped of their clans and forced to live amongst the kobolds. Neszys is the first red dragonborn to be allowed a fight with the champions in years. So whatever you all did to impress him… you did it.” There is a knock at the door. A couple of older dwarves, who look a bit frazzled, escort in Qizys (the blue dragonborn from Neszys’ team), Gurgle, and Krivdhall Drecu. Qizys, a gangled and gnarled looking blue dragonborn in chainmail says, “I suppose I stand outside and listen for that message to arrive, as well as anything else that might come to interrupt you all tonight.” Then he snorts a little spark of lightning from his snout and steps outside, longbow at the ready. Gurgle and Krivdhall came in, meanwhile Ron had cast invisibility on everyone but Rurrick while using cantrips to mess with the room and make it seem spooky. They were mostly ignored. Gurgle looks to all of you and says, “Friends. I’ve heard of what you are up against, of Jamesyth and his unholy allies. Krivdhall and Neszys came to me and paid handsomely for my help, but I intend to do them a spot better. Tips are appreciated.” He does an incantation and prays to Tamara, your entire room is filled with bright light, as if sunlight. You can see that this chamber has never seen sunlight and it shows every speck, every stain, and every impurity in the stonework. He says, “Fiends and other creatures from outside of our realms won’t be able to come in. If Yee-Rup sends any kobold assassins or attackers after you, this should be a healthy deterrent. Tamara’s magic will last for a day, so make use of it while you can.” Krivdhall sat at the dining room table to stand watch for the evening. Ron set up his Tiny hut in the entrance to the bedrooms. The party got a long rest without interference. The next day the party went to the arena. The party cast some spells before leaving their room. Ron- Seeming, Ailekk looks like Urd, Urd looks like Ailekk, Cassius looks like Ron, Ron looks like Cassius Rurrick- Freedom of movement on himself and Cassius Urd & Rurrick using oil of slipperiness on themselves. Just before fight started Cassius - Potion of Climbing Ailekk - Potion of Fire Breathe Urd - used Wyvern poison on 3 arrows The arena was 4 stony outcroppings, 20 feet down from the stadium ledge, and then a drop 15 feet down to acid. In the first round, Qelrash and Karith went first, opening with fireballs on the party. Ailekk, disguised as Urd, shot two poisoned arrows at Karith, Rurrick summoned two bears next to Karith and then turned into an earth elemental and began burrowing into the earth. Cassius, disguised as Ron, hurled a chromatic orb, Urd, disguised as Ailekk, moved forward to engage the enemy while shooting two arrows. Ron attempted to cast a fireball but was counterspelled by Karith. Krivdhall and Yee-Rup moved to engage, while Urolin killed one bear and severely injured the second. Karith dimension doored to the northwest, and Qelrath followed him, casting heal on him. Ailekk unloaded on Yee-Rup, pushing him into the acid below. Rurrick attacked Yee-rup while in the acid. Ron summoned inanimate objects to attack Yee-rup and Krivdhall. Cassius attempted to cast blindness/deafness and failed. Urolin attacked Cassius who used shield. Urd continued attacking, Krivdhall? Ron continued slamming Krivdhall and Yeerup. Krivdhall went after Ron, while Karith cast immolate on Ailekk and Cassius. Karith fireballed again. Ailekk threw his javelin lightning to strike Qelrash, Karith, and Yee-rup. Krivdhall got stunned. Cassius unloaded on Karith. Urolin used action surge against Cassius (?). Urd came over, grabbing Qelrash and dropping her into the acid. Urd and Ailekk dropped Karith. Qelrath cast fireball from down in the acid, killing her own downed team-mate. Ailekk went over and stunned Urolin then knocked Yee-rup into the acid again. Urd jumped up and stabbed Urolin while he was hanging against the wall. Ron turned Krivdhall into a slug, then went over to begin casting spells at Qelrath while Rurrick began attacking her as well. Yee-rup crawled out of the acid, dropping his weapon and clapping. The party then took down Karith, and Rurrick tossed her on top of the rocks. Ailekk, Rurrick, and Cassius spent a round targetting Urolin, dropping him as well.
