What are you using for Imperial Guard tokens on roll20? I'm currently running an Imperial Guard game using the Only War rpg and would like to use some more 40k tokens and tiles if possible.
Bump !

Do you know much about the table top Warhammer 40k war game? Specifically is it legal to come up with your own guard regiments and paint schemes? I don't know very much about any of the Codex's? And thanks again for all your hard work.

If this is still going on id be interested in giving it a go ^.^ complete noob though so bare with me xD

I am very interested in this. When do you have games? I am a very experience player, but I still forget things and I am not up to date on all the new stuff that has been coming out. I am mostly a Chaos Space Marine player, Thousand Sons focus. However I do have other army codex and I can play other armies too. I just really love my Thousand Sons! Also I like to tinker with rules and this seems like a good place to test those rules out if people are willing. Never anything really big, mostly crazy stuff that add something new rather then change an already established element. Although my favorite new rules I made were changes to the psyker rules that just made the more powerful. Those changes could be summed up as... You can choose your powers No racial limits for powers except codex specific, AKA Chaos Space Marines can't use Eldar Powers, but they could use telekinesis which they couldn't before. You get two powers per mastery Sure it makes psyker ridiculously powerful, but all the new strategy and tactics that open up is just fun to mess with. Although I can still do standard rules. Also I have extensive experience with vassal 40k, although I never figured out how to move the deployment zones after placing them. ALL IS DUST!
Hello All, First off, I have to say, the first post in this thread sounds nothing like what I've experienced with this game, so my only guess it that you are all doing it wrong. :) I mean a friendly, not super competitive, atmosphere just seems counter-intuitive to every experience I've had at my LGS. You're willing to make allowances for new guys and not argue every rule for 30 minutes before telling everyone they are doing it wrong, unheard of. And where are the new guys hazing rituals? I mean the, oh so superior attitude that creates a barrier to actually enjoying the game, or becoming part of the community? Clearly you're communists trying to indoctrinate the masses and not TRUE 40K players because they just don't act this way. :D Yes, as you may have guessed, I'm a beginner at the game, but I've been reading the game fluff (background stories etc.) for years but have never read the rules. I did collect an Eldar army but as my satirical opening paragraph may have pointed out, my first attempts to actually play weren't well received by the local Wargaming community, at least not the ones at my local game shop. Thus my army sets forlorn and half painted on a shelf in the painting room. So count me as a super beginner that would like to have a chance to actually play the game I’ve already invested so much time and money into. I don't know much about how to play various armies but given a choice I'd like to play Eldar or Space Marines. My favorite army concept is the Tyranids but I understand they take a bit of getting used to in order to play well, so I’ll just start simple and go from there. About me: I live in the EST -5GMT and am free Friday after 8pm Saturday all day and Sunday until 9pm. Please let me know who is available to teach a newbie how to play and I’ll be there. Thanks for the invite guys and gals. Peace --Mike
I have always wanted to get started playing warhammer 40k but i never understood the rules for it. I do realy want to play though.
Hey! I've played 40k for 5 years but struggle to pick up a game. I'd love to play, though am uncertain with the roll20 system.
im looking to use vassals sprites in an only war campaign. are they easy to rip from the vassal40k download?
Daniel M. said: im looking to use vassals sprites in an only war campaign. are they easy to rip from the vassal40k download? They're not. It's a crapload of work to make them usable for anything else. I'll send you something to help you in PM.
Have you guys used the in-game chat? I use it for my other games and it works very well. It also saves those who have slower computers having an additional program open.
I've been an avid reader of 40k novels for some time and have played the various video game iterations of this mythos, but never played the TT game and would be very interested in starting here in Roll20. Are you sticking with 6e or moving towards 7e? I will be purchasing the core book this week to look over the rules and such and am thinking about playing Tau or Space Marine, so will probably get the codex for those armies. What else should I read up on/gather before I start playing, in your opinion?
I'm definitely interested in laying a game or ten. =) I love playing 40k, but my friends and I get together only a handful of times a year to play. =( I'm a Tau player at heart, but I do dabble with some other races. I'm also curious about if your planning on using 7th edition anytime soon. From my knowledge it is simply 6th edition with some minor changes, clarity on some rules and new stuff in the form of Daemonology, tactical objectives and the Psychic phase. Let me know if someone wants a game, though timings may be hard (Australian here). Finally, does Tigurius have to be present for all the games, or is it just the two opponents? Really looking forward to this! Tau'va
To Talder/Nesta- Tigurius is De-centralizing his amount of control on the system, and we are switching to 7th edition (we have pdf's that we can share, as well as the codices) And no, only the 2 people that are actively playing the game need to be online and active. I'm presently organizing the upcoming(3 weeks from now) tournament, so i'll answer questions and the like (due to me being online a lot) The group communicates using a skype chatroom, Add me on skype (Skype username is buzzgob, my profile picture is an ork icon) and i'll add you to the group. If you have any other questions, I'd be happy to answer them, hope to see you on the digital table soon!
I hope this is still open, because I'd looooooove to play. I'm a total beginner, but feel free to add me on Skype as Jony_Mooper!
This is still open, we are actually running a tournament now.
Hey there, I'd love to get involved in this. I'd say I'm a semi-noob level of 40K player. Not sure on all rules, but love the game to bits. Sadly I don't get down to my local shop for games very often. How do I get started here?
I'd be interested in playing. I've been sitting on the beginner's box for the Dark Eldar for about a year, painted everything but my wytches, and have yet to actually play a game. The only official book I have is the Dark Eldar Codex so for exact rules I'm completely lost.
Right, if any of you want to get started, add me on skype (username is buzzgob) and I'll happily add you to the group, and give you links to any books you need.

I'm new to the website but not to warhammer I play black templar, tau, grey knights, some csm, some daemons, and some sisters but i prefer BT and GK. I'd be interested in playing some games, i've played one on here so far with my friend and so i have the jist of the game but i need somebody patient enough to let me think:
I'm fledgling to 40k far as the wargame goes, but have been interested for a time... I'll have to see how this comp holds up to skype but otherwise you have my interest.
Well! Hello, my name is Meinheld and I am interested in taking up this hobby. Unfortunately, I can't spend 70 USD on one Imperial Guardsman Tank or 110 USD on a giant Daemon so I found this. I am unfortunately mute but I hope this won't get in the way as I am really excited to start Warhammer 40,000. Well, hope to see you on the battlefield. If you have any questions for me, don't be afraid to message me.
Hi! well, my name is Jeremy, and I am extremely interested in playing, I've been interested in 40K for many years now, but have been unable to justify spending the money on models, and so don't have any real experience, I would love to play a few games with y'all.
I am interested as well. Not a huge amount of 40k experience...well none really lol. I have wanted to learn tho.
hi there, used to play WHFB and would like to try out the 40K system without sinking alot of money - I would play a chaos Marine army.
looking for 40k players in Sarasota/bradenton fl at dark side games any takers?
Hey, new to WH40k, Looking to get into it was wondering if I could join the group?

I'm a total noob but have been really interested in this sort of thing. Unfortunately no money to even consider doing it real world but would love to do it online!
I'm totally new to D&D but I know quite a some about DND
