Do ToA tokens link to their creature sheets?

Are we missing something to get to creature sheets from the token?  We just bought the ToA module.  We can see the creature tokens on the maps - like the medusa Zalkore. if we click on Zalkore's token then an edit menu comes up. To get to her creature sheet - we seem to have to go to the compendium.  Is there a way to go straight from the token to the creature sheet? This seems like it should be possible. If so, how?

I don't have Tomb of Annihilation myself, but assuming it's set up like most modules, you should be able to Shift+Double Click the token to bring up the token's sheet. This should work with any token that is linked to a character sheet via the Represents Character box in the token's edit menu (including tokens you create yourself, like players).

Hi Michael, Mik beat to it while I was confirming but yes, as Zalkore's token is linked to a sheet shift+double click will open the bio tab for quick navigation to the character sheet. In potentially even more exciting news, the recent 'Measured Update' (currently in Beta on the Dev server) includes a reworking of the keyboard shortcuts to allow alt+double click to open directly into the character sheet so keep an eye out for that going live in the near future!

@Mik Homes - That worked. Nice work. Thanks for the help. Clearly, Roll20 could benefit from reading the classic book on UI Design by Alan Cooper (used by Steve Jobs to design many of Apple's UIs) so they stop making UI design mistakes like this. (1) No hidden states. There should be an obvious indicator somewhere so the GM always knows what layer which they are on. That would prevent all the errors clicking and having nothing happen and then discovering you are on the wrong layer. Note - Cooper specifies that this state determination should be obvious just looking at the interface and not having to click anywhere. (2) Avoid Secret Knowledge. Knowing Shift-Double Click is secret knowledge. Instruction manuals should be unneeded and UIs should be self-teaching. All Roll20 had to do is add the choice to open the sheet to the Right Click Menu and this question never will never have to be asked again.

Thanks for the feedback: 1) 2)  The wiki generally but specifically here for this issue
@Ziechael - Yes, the current UI violates Cooper's principle which specifies the state of the system should be able to be determined at a glance and not require clicking or interacting with the UI. Currently to know the layer you have to click. This results in mistaken clicks by users as they attempt to interact in the UI without realizing the state (because they can't see it before making the UI mistake.)  Regarding #2 - according to Cooper, all of this knowledge should be built into the interface itself so that as you use it, you discover these shortcuts. No secret knowledge should be needed (i.e. like a separate wiki) and the interface should be self teaching. In Cooper's ideal UI world - instruction booklets look like Apple's booklets: thin and often unnecessary to read. Long UI documentation is a sign to him there is something wrong with the design. Thanks for considering the feedback.

You are welcome to make any suggestions regarding the VTT in the appropriate forum  but to continue the discussion on point 1, my screen shot showed the 'clicked' version but once a layer is selected the toolbar shows the appropriate icon for 'at a glance' layer knowledge :) The icons are easy enough to remember what layer they are associated with. I shall look forward to checking our Mr Cooper's VTT should he get around to it ;) As the original question has been dealt with and this thread has veered off topic for this forum I'll close it. Please feel free to create a thread in the suggestion forum for any potential UI improvements however. Thanks
