Mapping

Sorry, I forgot to stay on for map help, I can get on most weekdays or weekends at the same time as the game. I mostly just scan/capture the maps that are in the module, try to cut exactly to edge, count squares and tipple (since I'm using 3' squares and the module maps are 10') make the grid a couple bigger, rand then put the map in one square on each edge. Then I throw in some shapes if I'm feeling frisky, and put tokens, notes in the tokens, and notes on the GM layer or map layer if I want PCs to see them. Actually works much better for getting me to get familiar with the module than what I'm used to doing in a live game since I just draw as needed on a battle map. Takes considerably longer though.
yea..ive been trying to redraw some maps from the adventure im running and its a nightmare.i scanned them but they are crappy and i cant get them to size right for 5' boxes...
I had a lot of trouble with sizing too, I just kind of gave up and said 'eh, who cares' on the sizing, but I try to cut very close on the edges and count up squares each way, making the grid - oh actually 2 bigger each way, then stretch the map out to -1 square in each direction seems to work best. I think there's a bunch of videos on the site if you search for them. I haven't really bothered watching any of them yet, and just bumble around. I kind of find the mapping enjoyable, so if you have some time at the usual game time on another day, you could invite me to your game, and make me a co-dm and I can fiddle with it with you watching.
ok cool
