New to roll20 and looking for group

I am new to roll 20. I mostly play D&D 3.5e. I recently moved to an area that I struggle to find a group. I would love to give roll20 a try. I am free most Saturdays. I am happy with most playstyles. I am cool with voice and or text. I prefer playing unique characters over trying to create overpowered ones. I'm not ready to dm yet but I am working on some ideas for campaigns I may be willing to run in the future.
I have never played but I am looking to get into D&D5E. I have set up a character sheet and I have heard this website is a great place to play online. I'm happy to join if anyone will accept me but if anyone could help me by letting me know what to expect by playing games on here, the way it's played, what I would need or need to do on my end? Also...if there is anyone who is willing to play while walking me through how the game works...heavily appreciated.  1

Hi Both, I’m a somewhat experienced GM (this will be my 5th campaign) looking to put together a new campaign soon. The system I will be using will be Pathfinder though. (Which is based off D&D 3 rd  edition). But if you’re up for giving it a shot I have run games for people totally new to tabletop before, so I will be more than happy to show you the ropes. Have a good one :)
Pathfinder rules are very similar to that of 3.5. At least enough I could play but if I did id need time to read up. also id have to secure a phb. Id much rather play 3.5
