[LF1P][5e] Ilderon Tales: Through the Heart

Edited 1538026212
Overview Tasked by the goddess of death to find a group of smugglers who were sneaking souls in and out of the afterlife, a group of adventurers stumbled onto a break in the arcane fabric of their world. They destroyed the magical den of doors they were hunting for and in the resulting chaos they found themselves trapped the crumbling ruined city of Kalcrest. They would simply walk home except for fact that Kalcrest was destroyed 16 years ago when a magical catastrophe slid the city off a cliffside into the sea below. The city now exists in a demi-plane that serves as a domain for a classically mysterious and dark overlord. With 9 being the highest intelligence score among the characters they'll have to rely on something other than their brains to cleanse the plane of the Overlord's presence and find their way back home. This group meets every other Monday at 7pm CST.  About the Campaign Through the Heart is also known as Group C. The campaign is apart of the Ilderon Tales Campaign Style created to allow large scale story telling across multiple groups and campaigns. The simplest explanation would be a meta-narrative much like the Marvel Cinematic Universe structured in a way to allow the individual players and groups to be the heroes and focus of each branching story. The players that play in this particular branch of the campaign are a couple of well-intention low brain cell possessing guild members stumbling into a demi-plane and trying to find their way home. The demi-plane is the domain of a classically dark overlord ruling over the ruins of a crumbling city long thought to be destroyed by unknown arcane magics.  About the Group If you like wacky party members and wild extravagant tales you will be at home in this group. With a focus on story telling, in depth role playing, and truly bringing out every statistic of your character rather than wisdom, intelligence, or charisma just being a dump stat, this group weaves together a touching tale of hilarious and heart warming roleplaying moments. Currently they have a sorcerer, a fighter, a bard, and a barbarian monk.  About the World From humanity’s first steps on Seadale to the ruins of dead empires sleeping under the sands of Galken, Ilderon has been a lost plane isolated in the vast darkness of the multiverse. Shrouded in mystery, not much is known about how the plane came into existence. Gods and mortals walk the lands and sail the seas of the material plane while untold horrors remain locked away out of sight in an endless demi-plane known as the Bridge. The entirety of existence was once united behind the Goddess of creation, but in her silence humanity found new gods. When the dire conflicts of history called for heroes, four mortals answered the call and Ascended to the status of deities. The wars that birthed the great heroes birthed even greater foes who still inhabit Ilderon and continue to stir the winds of chaos. The country-sides have survived war after war and shattering after shattering. However, nothing changed the landscape of Ilderon more than the Second Shattering. While the world survived, a new race of half-man half-undead monstrosities spawned. The remnants of the war left sentient soul eating beings known as Tierii wandering around the world. Neither good, nor evil, the undead people struggle to find their place in Ilderon amongst its clashing political powers, old gods, new Ascended Gods, timeless beings, and broken-but-not-defeated humans who all roam the material plane trying to survive the building storm. About the DM Howdy doodles! I have been DM'ing for nearly a decade. I am a very story focused and RP heavy dungeon master. With a background in stand up comedy and writing Epic Fantasy fiction I bring a unique flavor of off-centered story telling to the table. My favorite type of games to run are political thrillers, my general philosophy: the scariest thing is not the monster lurking in the cave, but the scariest thing is what the unsuspecting person next to you is willing to do. Tipping is Encouraged but not expected This game encourages tipping the Game Master at a rate of whatever you want via Paypal or Patreon. Roll20 is not responsible for any payment transactions and cannot enforce any private arrangements. Just as some people decide to go to a movie theater on a Friday night, dnd can provide the same entertainment, but 10,000 times more engaging. When you have a proper DM who pours their soul into a campaign and works tirelessly to tell an expanding story with the players, the experience is nearly indescribable. I put a massive amount of time into making sure the world feels fluid and immersive. Tipping allows a dungeon master more financial flexibility in their life so that they can devote more time to the game they are running to ensure it is of a high quality and that the story and fun meets and exceeds player expectations. What Can you expect? Consistency and high quality story telling. I believe when you join our community of groups, players become more invested in attending the sessions and being engaged and actively participating in roleplay at the table. One of the things that really defines the experience is how much fun it is to see how one party's decisions cascade and affect other parties moving around the world at the same time. Player Application (Sessions will be every other Monday beginning 7pm CST) - Please include your discord username.  - Previous level of D&D Experience.  - Favorite aspect of D&D - Preferred class - Preferred Alignment Optional: - Two paragraph summary of a character idea or character's backstory if you have one in mind. Finally here is our LFG listing , I look forward to playing with you!
Hi everyone! I play Altis Granmoore in Group C and this campaign is hands down a lot of fun! We've fought ancient evils and we definitely did not run from it no matter what anyone says. We're kind of a.. diverse group when it comes to morals but I can definitely say there is consistency bar the season finales huge twist on one character in particular. We're currently hiking it through a city that was destroyed but is now its own happy DEFINITELY happy plane of existence! Come join us as we explore how much Alilharen can take of our worsening moral depravity!
Still have a spot open. Haven't been recruiting heavy was in the process of moving across country the past 3 weeks. Sorry for the people who sent me messages.

Hey, I'm pranaynaynay#1812 on discord I only have one normal campaign (Curse of Strahd) under my belt but looking to get more The thing I enjoyed most in my first playthrough was the combat and how each team member contributed I have an idea for Tiefling Monk who is Chaotic Neutral/Good. But as y'all have a monk, I can switch to a druid or paladin Bio that I wrote out prior: Left on the doorstep on some generous if elderly humans in desert port city, Netra never grew up having much connection to any culture surrounding her. Though the humans who adopted her were kind as they could be, they could hardly control the harsh attitudes of the others in the city. The tiefling race gained a bad reputation once a roving band of three descended on Netra's city district, robbing dozens and leaving a popular councilman and 8 others dead. Netra wasn't one to back down from being treated poorly, no matter how much her parents insisted it would only bring her more trouble. She fought from the moment she learned how to make a fist and used the skills she developed in the city streets to defend not only herself, but other downtrodden folks, even if they never thanked her. Once she was of age, and her parents were taken by the sand, she turned her back on the city that never showed her love, venturing deep into the desert. She hoped she could find a better life amongst traders and migrants moving between the small desert villages, many of whom needed a deft warrior to defend them.
