Roll20 Pathfinder Society: #02-21, The Dalsine Affair (Tier 1-7), Wednesday 02/26/14 @ 9:30PM EST

Hello again! Looking to run another Pathfinder Society scenario this coming Wednesday at 9:30PM EST. The Tier for this scenario is 1-7, meaning you must either have a Society legal character in that level range or play a pre-generated character (which can be provided). We will be using Google Hangouts for the voice-chat portion of the session, though individuals are welcome to just 'type-it-out' in the chat window if they prefer. Roll20 Pathfinder Society sessions are open to new and experienced players both! I encourage those new to Society play to check out the PFS website for more information, where you can find rules for playing in a Society game and much more. Six player slots are available ( absolute maximum of 7 ), with spots given to back-up players if no-shows occur 15 minutes after start time. Let me know if there are any questions or concerns! 1. Kurt R. (Options...) 2. Ben B. (Something...new?) 3. Mark G. (Spirit Ranger 1) 4. Nick (...Something.) 5. Mark D. (Barbarian 1) 6. Teo (Archer/Fighter 1) Over-flow 1. Daniel (Something...maybe?) Back-up 1. Daniel L. (Cleric) Back-up 2.

I've got a few level 1s I could take through this, so sure. If it turns out being at higher tier, I will have to do the pregen thing again. But such is life. I'll probably use either Alfredo the alchemist or a wizard I've got.

Very new to Pathfinder (and tabletop RPGs in general) but assuming that's all right, I'd be up for playing. Will draft up a character tonight. EDIT: Character created. Level one Ranger (<a href="http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=806514" rel="nofollow">http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=806514</a>)
Hello Sean, I'd like to offer my services as a level 1 Spirit Ranger if it pleases the kind benevolent and gentle DM. I had joined Phnord Prephect's run last week end very much enjoyed it. <a href="http://1drv.ms/1hM3BgO" rel="nofollow">http://1drv.ms/1hM3BgO</a>

I will join as well. Debating between my cleric, gunslinger, and arcanist.

I'd be interested in joining. I've done 3.5 some, but I'm new to Pathfinder. Since I'm new, a pre-generated character would be fine so long as I can tweak/interpret them myself. Personally, I'd like to play either a barbarian or bard (or warlord, if you allow 3rd party classes).

Personally, I'd like to play either a barbarian or bard (or warlord, if you allow 3rd party classes). This is an official Pathfinder Society scenario so you can either run a pregen or create your own character starting at level 1 (you'll have to register on paizo.com). There are restrictions as to what is allowed in PFS. Feel free to try out a pregen character. You can always have the credit earned applied to a new character later. Unfortunately 3rd party of anything isn't allowed. You're limited to the core races and classes, or anything that comes in the core rule book. You can expand your options by buying additional books from paizo. The upside to all these restrictions is that these characters are legal for ANY official PFS game. If you'd like more information on all these details, feel free to PM me. I'll be happy to help in any way I can.

Actually, I think it'll be easier to create a character myself this way, and I already have a pretty good idea of what I'd be interested in. I'd be playing a Human Barbarian then, if that helps Sean. I can give more details as needed.
If you register you can get this for free <a href="http://paizo.com/products/btpy84k4?Guide-to-Pathfinder-Society-Organized-Play" rel="nofollow">http://paizo.com/products/btpy84k4?Guide-to-Pathfinder-Society-Organized-Play</a> . It will explain what the restrictions are and how the society play works. ie: its a 20 point buy system, you don't roll for hp, there is no crafting though skills/feats, etc.
Just for clarification - is this a one-shot or a multi-session scenario? I'm certainly interested. I have no experience playing a d20 system save for listening to a lot of 3.5 & pathfinder actual play podcasts.
Optimally, it would be a single 4-5 hour session. In the event that the group takes too much time and only gets through 1/2 of the scenario, it may turn into a two session thing; but I have only personally had that happen once due to really great party RP that was going on.
Here's my character. Let me know if there's anything I need to change. Barbarian

Your character, however, is usable in any PFS scenario/module that is it appropriate level for. Sean and Phnord Prephect usually alternate wednesdays with PFS games. There are also some other groups that run on roll 20. You can also look up local PFS groups for where you live. You can use your character in any of these games.

Mark D. said: Here's my character. Let me know if there's anything I need to change. Barbarian A few small changes need to be made, but overall pretty good for a new player. 1) The max dex on your shield should be blank since that shield doesn't have a max dex restriction on it. (Max dex is a limit on your dex mod due to armor/shield). This should give you a +1 to your AC from your dex. 2) You have the -2 Attack, +2 Dodge from combat expertise listed as modifiers on your sheet. Combat expertise is on a turn by turn basis. You CAN have it active each turn, but you don't HAVE to have it active every turn. The feat simply gives you a choice to sacrifice attack for dodge for a turn if you wish. 3) XP to level is always 3 per level. You gain 1 xp per scenario you do, or 3 xp if it is a module. Other than that your character seems good to go. If you have any other questions feel free to msg me or reply to this thread.

(You can add 2 to any stat you want) 2) Missing the +1 hp or +1 skill for favored class at level 1. (so you can pick either +1 more hp, or 1 more skill point) 3) Max rank for skills should be listed as 1 (since you're level 1)

Yeah I'm assuming Combat Expertise is active for now, but I'll say if it's turned off. It's a free action so it should be fine. Okay thanks, made sure the details were there. I think the sheet puts in 2000 xp to level automatically. EDIT: I also didn't do favored class bonus, so there's that too hah.
Um any chance i could bring in my Level 1 Archer Fighter? I'm sort of new to pathfinder society (Literally played one session, so i'm still rusty on the rules). Though i am an experienced 3.5 player of 12 years.
I hate to say it, but it looks like we're a bit archer heavy here. Got at least 2 rangers there.
Ranger, Spirit Ranger, Archer Fighter... I dunno, could be a lot of fun. Besides, there's 6 or 7 players total (hopefully), so it's still possible to have a well rounded party composition.
I can tell that I'm the only one who hasn't played DND/PF here, so I should probably opt out to not slow things down. Would be happy to watch/listen when the session happens though :] Would love to play in the next one if there's space - prefer a pregen until I understand the game some more.
I wouldn't opt out solely because your new. You gotta learn somehow. I've only played 8 games so far, so I'm still fairly new (at least compared to people who've completed 60-90+ games). There's still space I think, and even if we have 3 archers its not too bad. More damage is never a bad thing. If we're squishy, we just need to be smart about it.

I've never played PF before. Just use the core rulebook and the extra pdf the Society gives out (there's a few extra rules and the setting is a little different). Do what you feel comfortable with, of course, but the group might need an extra person.

Should probably mark down that you're a fighter with the archetype archer.

I was trying to make a cleric of some kind on mythweavers, but I caught a snag on the deity part. I think in respect of time I'll opt out in favor of joining next time. I'll make sure to have done some more homework then :] EDIT: I don't own PF or any d20 rulebooks so I'm basing it on the paizo site for character creation. I intend to buy the print version soon enough, just don't have the time to dedicate to reading it yet.

That way, you can help out and later apply the credit to your own PFS cleric once you get everything straightened out. Besides, the pregens are often a good baseline to help teach new players the classes.
Where might I acquire the pregen cleric? For my first time playing pathfinder I'd be happy playing anything - I just picked a cleric since we had mostly fighter types and it's nice to have some variety.
I have level 1 cleric as a backup
<a href="http://www.d20pfsrd.com/extras/pathfinder-society-" rel="nofollow">http://www.d20pfsrd.com/extras/pathfinder-society-</a>...
Here is where you can get the legitimate pregen character sheets, although Sean is likely to hand one out for your use at the game. <a href="http://paizo.com/pathfinderSociety/playerResources" rel="nofollow">http://paizo.com/pathfinderSociety/playerResources</a> You'll note the download link for pregen characters. That will have the up to date files for available pregens.

Thank you very much for the resource links! I'll use the pregen cleric this time, albeit changing the name to something else like Anya so you all won't have kyra for the 400th time :P Reading up on who i'll play either tonight or next time :]
