Found It!

All good. I had bookmarked it so ready to rock. I'll sort out the sound over the weekend and then I should be good to go. Will give you a shout on Saturday and check out Luke's configuration before then.
Zip. Just messed about a bit with Naergon and when I went to settings it doesn't show any audio output sources. Do you know why that might be the case?
Sorry Paul, only just got a notification for this post. I'm guessing it means you don't have a microphone on your computer.  I've just bought a set of headphones and microphone - Amazon will be delivering it tomorrow. I've sent you a link they seem like decent value. We can have aplay tomorrow and see whata's what. One thing that would be cool, in settings under 'Display Name' can you change Paul H to Naergon please - it's much easier during gameplay.
By the way what was teh garbled text attack - i see a list of knives and staffs but one didn't work. If I know what it is I can try and correct it.
I have no idea what the garbled text was. I did play with making a knife attack but that was just to run through a process! I assumed audio output was stuff I was supposed to hear. If it means output as per me handing out bright and breezy missives to other people via a mic, then that would indeed explain why no source was listed.
it'll have been a spell or atatck you clicked that has an error in the command code. We'll find it sooner or later :) Hmm, I see why you would say that! When I set mine to broadcaste: voice, receive: voice. (and then hit reconnect) I get a default Audio input source - which I assume is my inbuilt laptop microphone. The video input remains blank which is right as I selected audio only. The Audio output source remains greyed out. If you read the small print it says "sources available after connecting to another player"  So I'm guessing it's the location you broadcast too - and unless there is someone else logged in, there is no destination. So I think it requires not only you to be pontificating bright and breezy witticism but someone to actually be listening.  It's like only being able to speak if someone was listening - reckon the divorce rate would plummet. :)
Lol. I'm inclined to agree with the notion that someone has to be listening. Unfortunately if we are all miked up no one would listen anyway. Its just a group thing!! I'm going to order a set today and when they get here we can give it a test run. Has anyone else tried it yet?
No worries, my set arrived today and we've trialled them. Single jack into the headphone socket of the laptop (a desktop PC may require the twin mic and HP jacks - provided with the headset). And basically it just worked, set to voice in/out and reconnected voila! No one else has made any comments, will speak on Tuesday/Thursday now I know it works and is easy peasy
Great. Just ordered a set so having a run through at yours on Thursday makes sense. Might have trouble hanging onto these headphones as the boys have seemingly made plans to use them elsewhere!
