I posted a while back LFG and had some nice conversations but nothing I really wanted to join. Part of the problem is not even knowing where to start and people who just want to get to it, which is totally understandable. For example a lot of people running games seem to need you to have your character prepared. Is this because it takes a long time and you get invested in them? What I've been doing is reading and reading the rules and supplementary books for D&D 5th Edition, as well as listening to podcast and information on how it works. There is a bit of a learning curve, especially with the typical ecology and lore. I have an idea: how about a few smart noobs like myself get together and try to figure it out, maybe run our own game? It would be cool if an experienced player wants to get involved too and help us out but I don't want to have require that. I've been thinking of playing solo which seems like plunging into madness so someone throw me a rope!
