I don't know if this is a bug, but its odd

I don't know if you are aware of this, but the production server doesn't let people stay logged in when they leave for long, but the dev server lets you stay logged in forever. Regardless of device. And its been this way for years. I just now had the the thought that one of these was probably not meant to be as it is. No idea which though.
Are you talking about the bug where a player who has left the game, still has their avatar visible days or weeks later? Or are you talking about a player logging into their Roll20 account and not getting logged out? The first is a long-standing and well known issue. The latter, I know nothing about since I never use the Dev Server. I have noticed only sometimes having to re-enter my password, but hadn't connected it to time.
the latter.
Hi Devlin, Does this behavior seem independent of if you are logged in on the live server?
not exactly sure what you are asking. But my log in of the live server has no impact on my log in of the dev server if thats what you mean.  Dev server never logs me out whether I'm logged into the live server or not. And live server always logs me out after a while whether I'm on the dev server or not. I do wish the live server kept me logged in. Since I have to be logged into live to access my marketplace assets through the dev server.
That is essentially what I was asking, yes. Users in the past have tried to access the dev server directly (not following the "Dev Server" link from the drop down) and have had issues with log ins-- was looking to see if that issue happens at all here. That does not seem to be the case. I have submitted a ticket to the devs for investigation.
I think there might be something odd about my account itself as there seems to be a lot of stuff that only seems to occur to me. And as I've gone through many different computers since I began roll20. It has to be with the account itself. Would it help if I changed my password and sent the devs my new password so they could log onto my account? And check things out directly?
Think carefully before you give your account password to ANYone!
As Phnord stated, we do not advise you reveal any password to anyone-- even us. No one working at Roll20 should ever ask for your password, so be wary if they do. That said, I believe the devs will be rolling out a fix to the underlying issue here sometime in the near future. Once that change is tested and merged in I will check back to see if it manages to resolve your issue :)
