Looking for Help (new to Roll20)

I just discovered this site, after an online friend brought it to my attention, and it seems to be the perfect fix to all my problems trying to play an RPG! If I can get the hang of it, I definitely wouldn't mind dropping some spare cash to improve the experience for any players The problem is, I want to take a Deathwatch campaign I created for some IRL friends, (dropped half a paycheck getting the books and supplies, just to have them lose interest after the first mission.), and bring that into Roll20. I'm just having problems setting it up, and was wondering if anyone would be willing to show me some useful tips/macros/setups that would work with the Deathwatch system. I tend to get a little overwhelmed at all the options that are possible, and I would very much appreciate any help. I tend to catch on things quickly, but not when I'm left to my own devices; I fool around with gubbins and bits too much to focus on the things I dont understand completely, like the macro system and such.

I am not familiar with Deathwatch but if you have some more specific questions perhaps I can help.
Hmmm... Well first question I had is if there was a way to give my players a streamlined way of creating a character. (they aren't the most patient when it comes to figuring stuff out) From what i've figured out so far, I'd need to ask my players what they want to play, and create characters for each one individually before actually starting the session; I was just wodering if there was a way that they could create their own characters. Deathwatch and Dark Heresy both use similar, if not identical, mechanics, if that helps at all. Sorry if the questions are stupid, I get hung up on things like this >.<
You could set up a "template" sheet for the characters with the common attributes and such already set up and use the duplicate button to create a sheet for each PC. Then you can assign the character sheet to the correct player so that they can add in their own numbers as they like. While players cannot create new character sheets themselves, the GM doesn't need to be present in order for the players to go into the campaign. This means as long as you've set a sheet up and assigned it to them, they can go into the campaign whenever they like to work on it. It should save them some time since you would've done the bulk of the work. The player/players who control a character sheet can also add their own attributes, so if you prefer, you could let the players do everything except create the character sheet.
I don't know anything about Deathwatch's character creation system so if this doesn't help then please move on. Here is the character creation macro I made for CALL OF CTHULHU: /em rolls a new Character! /roll 3d6 for STR /roll 3d6 for CON /roll 2d6+6 for SIZ /roll 3d6 for DEX /roll 3d6 for APP /roll 2d6+6 for INT /roll 3d6 for POW /roll 3d6+3 for EDU /roll 1d10 for Income Reroll low rolls per GM instructions. SAN = POW x 5 Idea = INT x 5 Luck = POW x 5 Know = EDU x 5 Occupation Skills = EDU x 20 Interest Points = INT x 10 Interesting notes about this: The results are shown and preserved in the chat window so the GM can review them for honesty at their leisure. Also, I have created a couple of Handouts with charts used in the character creation process. Between this macro and the handouts, I can make a Call of Cthulhu character in about 15 minutes without ever opening the rulebook. Keep in mind that CoC is a very simple rule system.
