Towards the end of the party’s rest, Urd saw a cloaked figure standing down the hallway in the , just waiting. He got Kaaska and Kira’s attentions, moving towards it ready to attack. When he got to it, it said, “Raffolk Slayer, my lord and master wants to speak to you.” Lighting his flame tongue, he could see a young woman with a heavily scarred face and a grayish tint to her eyes. After some discussion, the party went with her, going into the room where the wraiths and specters had come from, through a secret passage, into a larger chamber where skeletons and spectres stood their motionless. They then entered a larger chamber filled with some zombie ogres, skeletons, cultists, a mage, an evil priest, specters, an undead creature in plate mail who came up to them and spoke to Urd and Ailekk in a raspy voice. “Why hello there, friends.” He says in a raspy voice. “I heard that Rurrick and Cassius are dead. That’s unfortunate, I was wanting to do it myself.” He looks at Ailekk and Urd. “You two must be Ailekk and Urd. Is Swell with you?” He looks at the rest of the party. Urd responded with “No, not at the moment.” Raffolk explained that he had been brought back for unsavory purposes, and now had a dilemma. He said, “I’ve sent a message to Jamesyth using the sending spell. He knows you are here. He believes he will show up after we have fought, with both of our forces either defeated, or weakened. He… created me, but doesn’t know how to control me. I’d rather he didn’t. I propose to you an alliance, of sorts. We wait until he gets here, and I give you the opportunity to face him. Since he believes both of our forces will be weakened, it is unlikely he will bring his full force. More likely since your location is now known to him, he’ll be sending the rest of his troops after the mage’s tower. He is not very fond of Guildmaster Arkvall, from what I gather. Once he shows up, you can best him, or at least try. And you can rest in knowing that even should he beats you, I will not allow him to leave this chamber in one piece.” The party decided that while they were okay with the offer, they didn’t trust Raffolk not to intervene on Jamesyth’s behalf, despite the fact he gave his word not to interfere. They asked if he would be willing to leave now, and he said “Of course. I’ll leave behind a handful of troops to maintain the ruse, but the rest of us will leave.” Kalrithni asked for help, and he gave the party the use of a single skeleton named Reginald who Kalrithni called Craig. Prince Raffolk left, leaving behind two cultists, two specters, and Craig. Ron cast magic circle in the room, and the party began drinking potions and preparing for the fight. Then Urd saw an adult green dragon down the north hallway and the fight began. Jamesyth showed up with two black abishai, two white abishai, four half-dragon veterans, and himself. At first, the first was going well with the party using ranged attacks on the enemies to the north. As Jamesyth advanced into the center of the room in darkness created by the black abishai, he began using fear and other mind-controlling effects against the party to split them up and keep them disjointed as the veterans used breathe weapons. At one point, the party was clustered to the southeast, except for Ailekk and Kaaska and Ailekk got taken down almost out of the fight but was soon healed by the priests. Ron exhausted his higher level magics doing AOE damage, but they managed to cut down most of the enemies. Finally seeing his chance, Urd managed to grapple Jamesyth, pull him near the magic circle, and then shove him into it. The party cleaned up the remaining enemies easily. Kalrithni, Ron, and Kira stayed behind to guard Jamesyth while Urd, Kaaska, and Ailekk made their way to the mages tower by flying. Off to the south they could see great fires and the end of a large battle that had taken place off to the south. As they approached the mages tower, they could see it lurching as the foundations were becoming damages and it became cocked to one side with the top door no longer accessible. They made their way through the undercity, finding a field of dead dragons, cultists, mages, and martial adepts, along with skeletons and zombies. Making their way into the bottom floor of the mage tower, Catherine and 3 of her injured but surviving dwargons stood over Arkvall’s unconscious body. She made it clear she intended to keep and/or kill him. When Ailekk and Urd made it clear they weren’t going to negotiate, she tried to cut Arkvall’s throat with her rapier and the party intervened. Ailekk moved to her punching at her furiously, Kaaska followed suit. One dwargon slowed Ailekk, while the two others beat him into unconsciousness and Catherine turned her attention to Kaaska, stabbing him several times and telling him, “I have no beef with you assassin, take your brother and leave.” Urd ran into the fray, on top of Ailekk’s body, and fed Arkvall a healing potion sayings, “Get us out of here.” Kaaska stood his ground, having seen enough wizards in his time (and killing some of them) to realize that Arkvall was trying to cast a teleport spell. On the very next turn he did, teleporting Urd, Ailkek, and Kaaska back to Dravens’ Port. Ron recieved a message, telling him what had happened and that allies would arrive. Ron responded for Ailekk and Urd to get there quick. They didn’t, being back in Dravens Port, but Pixie, Shevorth soldiers, the acolytes, and the master thief's did. After Ron had used his last slot upkeeping the magic circle, the two surviving mages arrived to help him upkeep the magic. Ma Thornberry sent a message to Ron, telling him “Don’t respond to this sending unless you are in urgent need.” Urd arrived late in the night, talking to Pixie, Ron and the master thieves, with one of them giving Urd Ron’s broomstick which had been found during exploring and battle. The master thieves informed him Catherine had taken out half a dozen mages in her initial attack, and also a powerful undead knight had fled with his troops through the north gate. Pixie had helped defend an attack in the chamber by Catherine and her Dwargons, who were forced to retreat when confronted by a well defended and organized defense force. The next morning Ailekk, Kaaska, and Arkvall arrived, along with wizard apprentices and others. They took the Black Abishai out of the circle and Arkvall produced a mithril orb, and spent a minute casting the imprisonment spell. When he was done, the orb flew at Jamesyth, growing large enough to surround him (trapping him in the fetal position) and then flew down into the earth un untold distance with a large hole opening then closing behind it. In that spot a small amount of smoke can be seen rising from a hole in the ground. Arkvall told Urd, Ailekk, Kaaska, Ron, and Kalrithni that the only way to release him would be one of them (or their direct descendant) to stand directly on the spot and say, “I wish to release Jamesyth” three times. Aside from this, there was no magic in the mortal realms, from mortals or deities, powerful enough to release him. It was over, Jamesyth had been defeated.
