For those who missed today’s Community Roundtable, don’t worry: we took notes! Here’s a quick look at the highlights, or you can watch the full VOD here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i0ZK3hKYP_k Mobile App We’re aware of an issue causing the Roll20 app to crash for iPad users, particularly when they open character sheets with Charactermancer integration. We are working on a patch to fix this in the short term, and for the long term, we will soon be hiring mobile developers to rebuild the app. We especially want to increase the app’s usability for in-person play, for those of you who use your phones and tablets around the physical table! Jukebox We’ve begun to explore a new option to allow users to upload their own sound files onto Roll20. This will help address issues that some have experienced with Fanburst going down in the middle of their sessions! Because this feature would require an increased amount of storage, we’re also exploring the possibility of raising the price on new subscriptions in the future. (Existing users would get to keep their current subscription at the same rate for a 1-2 year grace period.) Edited to Add: Storage is not the sole reason that we're looking at an incremental price increase in the future. As Roll20 enters its seventh year in April, we know our feature set and its upkeep will continue to expand. Storage is one of several places (including expanding API and WebRTC server functionality, better supporting mobile, etc.) that we see as an an area where we need to stay sustainable in pricing to keep improving. Right now, Compendiums are all created by the Roll20 team. This would open it up for publishers and developers large and small to put their content on the VTT on their own schedules! GIFs on the Tabletop GIF support is coming to Roll20! You will be able to upload animated GIFs into your game and make your tabletop dance like it’s Peanut Butter Jelly Time. And you know what would be a really cool way to make use of GIFs? Weather. We’re just throwing that out there, hint hint, wink wink. Burn Bryte for Plus Subscribers Roll20’s sci fi RPG, Burn Bryte, will expand its beta to Plus subscribers on Monday, November 19! You can be a hive of sentient space wasps taking selfies at the end of the universe… or, you know, play the ready-made adventure “Burning Daylight” and put the new system through its paces. We appreciate all the feedback we’ve gotten on this game so far and look forward to hearing more from Plus subscribers! Want to be informed of new updates when they happen?
