I have always been of the opinion that 1 on 1 D&D would be a bit weird and awkward. It can already get slightly embarrassing for people Roleplaying in a group of people they don't know, so just having it be two people might be hard to wrap your head around. But after playing in a game where my DM did Prologue sessions with each player individually, I saw that it wasn't that bad. It was pretty exciting playing the game and everything sort of depending on my actions and how the world reacted(DM). And then I also read this article ( https://kotaku.com/dungeons-dragons-can-work-with-just-two-people-1788951169 ) which further intrigued me, hence this post: I am interested in trying a One on One campaign with someone. I think I'd prefer to be the player, but I wouldn't mind being the DM. I currently am a DM of a 4 man campaign and I run One Shots from time to time, so it's nothing new to me. I don't expect One on One games to replace the group activity of normal sized D&D games, but I think it could be a cool experience and would really like to try it out if anyone is interested. Of course since it's only 2 people playing, they would have to be compatible personality wise as well as what sort of adventure they want to embark on together, more so than when there is a group of 5 since there are people to buffer. I think this could be more like the classic "Hero's Quest" you get from books and movies, where you see a the progression of a single individual striving to reach their goals. Or the classic "Villain's Quest," whatever is decided on. Post down, or message me, if you are interested in this idea. Or just post below your thoughts on the concept. I'd love to discuss it deeper.
