Dynamic Light and Fog of War issue

Hello everyone, I'm here to ask serious help because me and my GM are going crazy looking for a solution for the following issue: my GM creates the map/dungeon and on DL layer and he draws all the walls and the doors to have the correct lightview in-game. So far so good. The issue shows up as long as he puts on the map (any layer) tokens for light-source like torch, lamp, bonefire etc. which emits light that all players can see. If he puts, for example, a torch in a room (still not discovered) far far away from players' position, everybody can see that room in the complete darkness, no matter what. In the GM's CTRL+L view everything seems ok but it's a lie because the actual players will see the room lightened up in the dark map. We tried almost every setting and it seems that we can't solve the problem. If there's something that emits light, the room/hallway where it's put will be seen from everybody, no matter if there's a wall, a door or an elephant that blocks the line of sight of the players. I hope you can understand the issue from my chaotic description. Thank you in advance for all the possible support Luke

Just a guess; is your light source token(s) that's controlled by the player's, set to "Has sight" by chance? If so, try un-checking "Has sight" for your light source token.  Found under the advanced token settings.
Hello Vince, thanks for the reply. I think we already tried that but I'm not sure. I'll tell your suggestion to my GM and see. Thanks again

Besides Lumren's suggestion, make sure that players do not have control of the light emitting token or any character it might be associated with. Also, if you are using Advanced Fog of War, you may need to reset Fog of War . If a token has previously been in that room, even for testing, the revealed area persists.

I do too. Just trying to cover all possible reasons. Dear Keith and Vince, first of all thank you both for support.  We probably solved the issue following your suggestions (combination of unchecking "has sight" and using fog of war to cover the area), but we'll test it out completely during our next game with all players.  I'll report to you if it's definitively solved or not. Thanks again! Luke

I'll hold the issue open a while, then. Sounds like you've figured it out, though.
I recently had a similar problem, but the player could not see anything. I had both FOW and Dynamic Lighting turned on so I think that was the issue. When I turned both off he could see the map fine and we went on, but it seems there might be issues between FOW and DL.

(Regular) Fog of War defaults to the entire map hidden and requires areas to be revealed to become visible. Perhaps that was part of the issue? Regular Fog of War is also pretty undemanding on system resources and unlikely to have conflicts with other features.
Hello everyone, we tested it out and yeah, I confirm that we solved the issues. Now DL+AFoW are working well. Thank you all for support All the best Luke

Glad to hear it, Lumren. I'm going to close the thread and mark it Resolved. Greg, It wasn't clear what your issue was, or if you are still having it. If you'd like to start your own bug report thread with more detail, we'll handle it there.
