[LF1P] [5e] [18+] [LMoP] Saturdays 7-10PM EST (Weekly)

HELLO! I am in need of one more player for a 5th edition campaign I will begin running on next Saturday, December 8th, 2018. The adventure will kick off with the Lost Mine of Phandelver and will (hopefully) progress into Waterdeep Dragon Heist/Dungeon of the Mad Mage. My intent is for this to be a long term game where players actually complete to around level 20. No, this will not be Adventurer's League legal. Any person over the age of 18 is welcome to apply to join. WE WILL BE USING ZOOM VIDEO CONFERENCING AS OUR PRIMARY METHOD OF COMMUNICATION. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A MIC YOU WILL NOT BE SELECTED FOR THIS GAME. While myself and other players will be using video calls to communicate you DO NOT  have to use video as well. Simply having a decent microphone will be just fine. I am looking for responsible adults that are willing to be committed to this game; therefore, if you miss sessions repeatedly and lack communication skills with me you will be booted from this game in a timely manner, and subsequently replaced. If you are interested please fill out some short answers to the questions provided below and I will select a player by this Saturday. So you may get to know more about me and what you are getting into I will fill out my questions as examples for you all. What’s your Gaming experience? I started playing Dungeons and Dragons during 3.5e. A couple of friends wanted to play and thought I would make a good DM. I was hesitant at first but almost immediately fell in love with the tabletop game. Since then, I have DM'd many times in the past few years, doing a couple campaigns for friends and throwing a couple of one shot "parties". Eventually, while I was deployed in Iraq I began using Roll20 as an outlet to play DnD with some of the other guys there. We played countless hours and it really helped the time go by. All in all my gaming experience runs about 4 years now, all of it being with DnD. Do you already have a character idea? If so, please share. Insert a character idea here if you already have one. If not that is totally fine! I will assist and sit down with any player to help create an awesome story. A book, TV show, movie, comic, or other story you enjoyed: I have to say the Drizzt Do'urden series. I just finished the 33rd (I think) book and they are truly inspiring as a DM. As far as TV shows I do watch a healthy amount of anime as well as other TV series, Game of Thrones comes to mind. I don't watch as many movies, usually just whatever the wife wants to watch. A bit about yourself, just what you feel like sharing: Like I mentioned I have primarily  only been playing DnD for 4 to 5 years now, and usually as the DM. I am 25 years old and just last year finished my 6 year term in the Air Force. I worked as a meteorologist for the military but now am focusing on my studies towards a field in IT. I am married and have 8 pets total (Mostly not by my choice :/). A question for me: Anything really here, I am assuming most questions will be oriented towards the game itself. And I will try to answer as many of those as possible. All in all we are here to have fun. What’s your Gaming experience? 5e for about 8-9 months, might have been a bit longer.  Been familiar with D&D since 3.5 edition, but never really dove in until recently.  It's my social outlet of choice.  Been playing video games in general all my life. Do you already have a character idea? If so, please share. Several in fact, but I think I'd like to play a caster unless the group needs otherwise.  Currently I have character ideas for 2 different types of Druid, a Warlock, and a Sorcerer.  First Druid is a ghostwise halfling witch, that can be most types of druid archetype, and is flavored accordingly.  2nd is a Tortle Circle of Spores Druid, who has been taken over by a Myconid colony, very Body Snatchers.  Both are probably quite creepy characters. My Celestial Warlock Drow is a diplomat/dancer who belongs to a tribe of Eilistraee, and possesses a blessing of Corellon, allowing them to switch genders. (making them an ideal diplomat for his/her people) And my Pyromaniac Tiefling Sorcerer cannot control their powers, and accidentally burns everything to the ground and is a walking hazard.  May require a little homebrew to get it to work. I also have a bard concept rattling around in my head, but nothing concrete.  As well as other builds for Battlers. Generally try to keep the concept loose, and tailor towards the campaign and learn the character as I go. A book, TV show, movie, comic, or other story you enjoyed:  I read light novel and manga occasionally, as well as some anime.  Overlord, So I'm a Spider so what?, World Trigger, Boku no hero Academia, Re Monster, Goblin Slayer, Tate no Yuusha no Narigari, Land of the Lustrous, and others. A bit about yourself, just what you feel like sharing: I'm a freelance artist with a largely open schedule.  Looking to get more education next year. Also have both a mic and video, generally prefer both.  Brings the group together. A question for me: Do you do much in the way of out of game play/text rp with your players?

After that I've been playing on and off most editions, except 4th. I have always played in person, and I'm currently looking for my first online game. Do you already have a character idea? If so, please share. I'd like to play with a Bugbear fighter (samurai) I've been toying with. If UA is allowed I would love to play a mystic as well. A book, TV show, movie, comic, or other story you enjoyed: Anything Tolkien, really, and for more recent books, the Kingkiller chronicle is what gets me.
