Issue with Players being able to control Duplicate Tokens

Morning

I want to give my players the ability to move tokens around on the screen, however i don't want them to be able to see the character sheets associated with them. To this end, i've created a Duplicate of each character using the 'Create Duplicate' button and then deleted the relevant character sheet information. i've then given all players Visibility in Journals and ability to Edit and Control. Using a test player, i can drag these new Copies over onto my main board, however as soon as they're on there i can't move them again. If i give the same permissions to the original token, then a player can move them around as much as they need to - do duplicates have a hardwired limitation to them and if so, can I get around this? I'm sure it doesn't matter, but this is a V5 game if that helps.

Cheers

When you create a duplicate it retains the default token settings of the original so without edit access to the original sheet they won't be able to move it. You'll need to drag/drop the duplicate token onto the VTT, select it, and then edit>remove default token>set default token.

excellent - i'll give that a try - thanks for the tip!

Would using the token without an associated sheet solve the problem? If so, put the token on the map and edit its settings to not be associated with a sheet and give the players control over the token in the token settings.

well, what Ziechael recommended worked for me- i removed the token and added them again - that picked up the new permissions i'd set on them them.
