[LFP][18+][DnD5e] Kingdom of Shadows (Session Zero) - Looking for dedicated players!

This forum post is mostly a repost of a game listing I made a while back. I'd like to hopefully get players that meet my criteria, and hopefully I can be the ideal DM for you guys. Greetings weary traveler! My name is Map, and hopefully I can be your tour guide into another adventure! [What is this?] -Simply put, this is a one shot I'm running to find suitable players for a long term campaign. Essentially to make sure we can all stand each other for months, or maybe even years of play. (Yes, the campaign is expected to be that long.) [How long will this be?] -Probably no more than three hours, I don't have much in the way of pure combat lined up for S0, its more of a roleplay/exploration, with combat meant to slow down the two. It won't always be like this in the main campaign if you're wondering. Part of the time will be spent also running ideas by the players, seeing what they might be interested in. [Can I bring a character I've already made, or do something with homebrew?] -Absolutely, I love homebrew and I totally get when you make a character concept you really like and just wanna run it everywhere. That's fine for session zero. You may apply below or send me a PM, HOWEVER, DO NOT APPLY IF ANY OF THE BELOW IS NOT OKAY WITH YOU.  (This all mostly applies to the main story, not session zero. Zero will be a bit different, as its just dipping your toes into the water as opposed to diving right in. Trying not to waste anyone's time.) -Long campaign, fluctuating world, and fluid gameplay (Its a big campaign and there is a lot of detail to the world and it's characters. There will be a lot of things for you to do other than murder things for gold. Sometimes the RP aspects may fall out of line if or when there is full scale skirmishes or war, not saying that will happen, just that it may.) -Homebrew (I've already said this, I love homebrew. Some don't. I understand, but there will be a lot in my campaign. If you want to do something homebrew with your character/class/items/etc, RUN IT BY ME FIRST. With that being said, if you want to suggest something, I'm totally cool with it.) -Multiple characters are a must (Maybe not early on, but later there may be a point where one or more party members are killed/banished, and may or may not return, at least for a while. I might even let you use your extra character later on against harder fights or bosses, kinda like a raid.) -I don't tolerate rule lawyers (I get wanting to be consistent to rules, but sometimes it can be too much and it sucks the fun out for everyone. Here's the pecking order for my games Fun>Story>Rules. I mean that should've been obvious with how I am about homebrew. If I make a mistake, or forget a rule, its fine to tell me privately but please don't halt the session for it.) -If you're making a new character, I'd like to be present for it. (Its pretty self explanatory when I say that I'd like to make sure ideas are bounced back and forth between us, and that I have some stuff to incorporate into the narrative. Also, if you wanted to do homebrew stuff or get retroactive advice on the world or other PCs, you literally have the DM right there with you, take advantage.) -(If you've read this far, please tell me what you look forward to the most. I'd love to have a large group of people super excited for every session :) -Lastly, there are consequences for everything you do. (You can go around killing everything in sight, even each other, but it won't go unpunished, I promise you that.) I believe that covers it all. Again, if you have any further questions and/or are interested in applying, message me below or send a PM if you'd like. Whatever works for you.
What time will this be and on what day?
Friday, November 30 at 8pm EST.
Hey mate, I'd be interested in joining you to see if I'm a fit. Time and day work fine for me. Already got a backup character from one of my old games that I never got to play. Let me know, cheers.
Absolutely, I'll add you to the game.
I'm interested as well, and have a bevy of characters I could potentially chew through.  I usually like to work around the party, thou for the most part I'd like to play a caster.
Okay, we'll talk further in PM.
Also interested. Time works for me if you wanna drop me a PM and get into character creation
Im interested. I already have a character concept ive been wanting to try for the longest time. The time works for me as well
I’m interested time and rules seem fine with me however I’m a bit cautious at the multiple character one. I like making characters and playing multiple ones in the same session seem like fun, but it kind of discourages people from getting invested with their characters if you kill them off so frequently like the rule seems to describe, however I’m not telling you not to kill them just not over bullshit things such as “ As you walkout side an ancient red dragon lands in front of you wanting you dead” player:  “ but, we are like level 3 and this is in a city?” Dm: “ don’t care role initiative”
Regardless right now I’m aiming to be a caster though I have a good few concepts for other characters I can make. I will say I like the multiple character thing being that it makes it seem more alive like fellow adventures and friends the party knows.
This page is hearby closed, an adequate number of players has been reached. However, should there be a no show and the group is down to do the campaign, I may get another.
