Moving it here instead *I know it says 6 players, need 4, that is because I have myself and a test account. I do need 4 players* **A mic and headphones is required** Here is the player’s guide, with some additions I have made. PLEASE READ. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1iyfN5e3v6Oc6QKA-RoZkPDI8_PztV46X
**Introduction**
Way of the Wicked is a Pathfinder compatible adventure path for evil characters. This is my second time GMing this adventure under Pathfinder. I'm in the search of four capable players to hopefully be able attend on a biweekly basis. I am looking for people who have had some experience playing pathfinder or D&D 3.5. It's been around for 10 + years, I would like to see players with at least experience through a module past level 5. It's not a hard requirement but I'd like the games to go as smooth as possible.
**Why choose me as your GM?**
I take a great deal of effort to make sure you get nice maps, with dynamic lightning, nice tokens, and the experience of a game with more of serious tone to it. I’m also not charging anything, and I do pay for a Plus membership so we can have enough space to really enjoy the game. I also try my best to make area effect templates to make your game play easier as well. I am extremely punctual and will keep playing a session as long as you want to go (real life permitting of course) I am not a combative GM, I reward good roleplaying (but don’t hold it against you if it isn’t your thing) I am open to communication and infact want it so I can improve as a GM.
**APPLICATION**
There really isn't an application per say but here are the questions I'd like to have everyone answer. 1. How long have you been playing table top rpgs? 2. What kinds of table top games did you play? 3. Have you ever played in or DMed an evil campaign before? (Playing or DM this one most certainly does not exclude you) 4. You are a thief, and you secretly start stealing from the party. They know stuff is missing, they can’t prove who is doing it and have no reason to suspect you are doing it. The paladin in the party at this point has never checked any npc, enemy, or party member with a detect evil ability and decide to do it to you. Is this metagaming? Yes/no? If Yes? Why? If No, why not? 5. What are you most looking forward to as an evil character? 6. Who is your favorite fictional fantasy character? 7. Are you comfortable with Macros in roll 20 that I can provide you to help speed up the game? 8. Is there any feedback you would like me to have going into this game? 9. This AP has a fair bit of railroading through the first book, begins to wane in the second, and you is don't even notice after that. This doesn’t mean you do not have the freedom to solve problems in amazing ways. Is this ok with you?
**Scheduling & Communication**
Before we get to anything about the adventure this is by far the most important thing to uphold. Please be aware that I have three kids and a family. I also have a full-time job. I always try and be here for the players. I expect if you join this game you make the same effort. If you know you cannot make a specific date, let me know the week before that. Emergencies arise, and I understand. Likewise, I will always let you know if something has come up and I cannot dm. We will **NEVER** proceed with a session without a full house. Time: 11 PM Central Standard Time (12 EST, 10 MST, 9 PST) primarily on Fridays. This can also be discussed during Session 0. Not sure on what your time zone will be? No problem! Check it here: https://time.is/compare/CT Duration: Minimum 2 hours and once reached I will take a roll call of /gmroll in secret and if everyone wants to go on we will, if not we stop. Communication: We will communicate via the campaign forum found here: https://app.roll20.net/campaigns/forum/3972523/
**Character creation**
We will have a session 0. This is for our character creation. If you would like to know the basics of character creation (which will happen in roll20) feel free to click on this link and download the semi-player’s guide to this adventure path. You have the freedom to use your own character sheet, the roll 20 version or whatever. I like this one for the free backups: http://charactersheet.co.uk/pathfinder/#/login First party material only. If you aren’t sure please refer to Paizo’s official sister site: http://aonprd.com Alignments: This module only allows Lawful Neutral, Lawful Evil, Neutral, Neutral Evil. This is a hard rule it won’t be changed. Please refer to this site to get familiar with the definition I use for these alignments. http://easydamus.com/alignment.html Ability scores will be generated via the Focus and Foible method in game. That is as follows: Choose one score to be 18. Choose another score to be 8. Roll 1d10+7 for the remaining four ability scores. Do these three times. Take the most favorable set of remaining ability scores for your character. They will be assigned in order. I will allow a complete reroll of the ability scores if you are unlucky enough to end up with three sets of scores that each have an average penalty of -1. Example: Kim wants to be a Sorcerer. She makes her Charisma 18. She makes her Strength 8. She then rolls her three sets of scores: |13,9,15,8|14,13,10,17|11,10,8,9| Kim reviews the scores and feels the middle set is best to represent her character. This means Kim starts her character (before racial adjustments) at: Strength 8 Dexterity 14 Constitution 13 Intelligence 10 Wisdom 17 Charisma 18
**Experience and leveling**
Everyone will level up using the slow progression track. I’ll explain it in more detail during character creation. I will always award experience that is earned from the game at the end of each session. I will award experience for clever game play and roleplaying on the spot. I also award experience for flavorful play. If you describe your actions in great elegance and flair that can earn a reward from me. Lastly, I am not your typical GM. I do not play with the ME vs YOU mentality at all. I might joke about killing you in playful banter but in the end I am about as much as a GM as I am a banker in monopoly. I do this because someone has to. As a result of this, if there is some sort of ruling I fluff up and don’t correct its negative impact on you at that moment I will award a flat 500 exp for that. Just an example of when I’ve done this before is: On roll20, I didn’t know I had been doing the lighting wrong everyone and as a result they were not getting their true vision and sight distances. 500xp each for that mess up. **Rules Disputes and Resolution** It happens. There are a lot of rules that go on in this game. That is ok and there is never a reason to get worked up over them, especially with a GM like me. If we cannot quickly resolve a rules question in a reasonable time (no more than 5 mins) I’ll rule in favor of the player and go to Giant in the Playground forums and ask on their stickied post - RAW (Rules as Written). What they answer goes. I am generally going to rule according to RAW. This just keeps things clean. **Final Notes** We play this game to have fun. The obvious things are no brainers. Sexism, Racism, Homophobia, and the like will not be tolerated. There is a zero tolerance for this. I do not want any other harassing other players about in game or out of game things. I can handle it. If someone isn’t playing their character right I can handle it. I lifted a lot from here: http://castlesandcooks.com/2012/01/19/the-five-crimes-of-dd-players/ Griefing Being a PC in D&D means you are pretty powerful. Pound for pound you’re about the most dangerous thing in the world. There’s no need to be a dick about it though. There’s nothing DMs loathe more than unwelcome griefing. When we say griefing, we mean playing your character as a deranged maniac. Even though you can you don’t have to pickpocket every NPC. The inn is perfectly fine without you setting it on fire. It doesn’t matter how “cool it sounds”, stop trying to murder the king or starting PvP fights with other PCs over who gets the best loot. Betraying your fellow adventurers for the fun of it does not make you awesome. The name for this behavior is Chaotic Stupid, and it sucks. Players like this have some issues they need to work out before they sit down at the table. Video games are your outlet for this kind of thing, because there’s no social contract in Skyrim or GTA. Trying to Win D&D There’s a dirty little secret about D&D that no one ever really talks about. As a new player, it takes some time to learn, but eventually it dawns on you. No matter how hard you try you can’t win D&D This is a game about fantasy adventures, and you’re supposed to play your character as they would behave in that situation. Don’t use cheesy loopholes to create powergamey munchkin PCs. Min-maxing a character to a point is fine, no one wants a PC who is useless, but maybe your fighter doesn’t need to deal out 3d12 damage at lvl 2. Don’t use metagame knowledge to defeat challenges. In fact, leave metagaming out as much as you can. Yes, you might realize that a 40 foot fall, causing 1d10 of damage per 10 feet couldn’t possibly kill your character, but keep it quiet. Meta gaming offers some teachable moments when you have people trying to learn, but otherwise you’re just breaking the game by doing it. Overall, you should be trying to contribute to an awesome story, not break the DM’s plot in half. Alpha Players Powergaming is fine, I do it when I’m a player, be good at your choice, be as excellent as a team player you can be, but do not dominate the table during other player’s turns. You do you but do it with grace and humility. Keep the asshole and arrogance at home and out of our game. DON’T DO IT. Rules Lawyers I love it when player’s know the rules. Please do not argue with me. If I say you fall into a trap and I miss that you should have gotten a save, cool, not a problem we can roll it. Beyond that, don’t argue with the DM about story points, either. Don’t beg for a pet dragon, don’t invent your own race and class and assume it’s fine to use in the game, and don’t tell the DM he has to let you take back that turn because you forgot to make your opportunity attack. The game is supposed to be a collaborative effort, so if you have suggestions, odds are your DM will love to hear them, so long as you aren’t an ass about it. Overall, this is the crime of defying the DM’s authority* Other minor crimes that didn’t fit anywhere (or were a little too creepy to delve into further): PVP: You are, under no circumstances allowed to attack, steal from, or cause trouble to your party. This module especially relies on teamwork. You are a team. Social faux pas - Generally rude or unwelcome jokes, talking about topics that generally are going to end up bad. You are an adult (or in the case of a 17 year old almost one), remember that. Uncomfortable character concepts: Trying to be a Jedi in D&D. Hypersexualized drow warrior-sluts, especially when played by guys. Disruptive characters. Not willing to roleplay: You don’t have to do a funny voice and adopt period speech styles. No one is trying to turn their campaign into a production of Hamlet. I know that one of the barriers to new players at D&D is that, unlike a video game, a tabletop roleplaying game asks you to buy into a shared fantasy and put yourself out there. Do try at least a little bit to get invested in the fictional world and the events of the campaign. Do take some time to help construct a story at the table, and for the love of Pelor don’t just read the flavor text off the power card or, worse yet, throw some dice onto the table and announce some numbers. https://www.greenmangaming.com/blog/7-tips-great-roleplayer/ That might help you if you don't know if you can handle roleplaying :).
