Is interested in a D&D (3.5) or Star Wars d20 game

Hey I'm actually extremely new to the whole online gaming thing like this. I have played more D&D 3.5 games than Star Wars in real life and thought what the heck. So, I'm here and interested in join a D&D 3.5 or Star Wars d20 (not Saga) game.

I would also be interested in a D&D 3.5e game, if anyone feels like being the DM. I have tons of experience with 3.5e, I live on the East Coast (eastern standard time) but I'm free pretty much anytime except Friday/Saturday nights (I work overnights).

Not to sound too repetitive, but I too live on the east coast, and would be available any time after 3:00 pm EST. The downside is I have almost no experience in actually playing. I do have the 3.5 core rulebook set, and I have read through a lot of it. The only thing stopping me from playing is finding people to play with. This site seems like a good solution. It looks like we four people now, is all we need is a DM.

I'll break the chain. I live on west coast best coast, and I'm sure to be available most weekends and weeknights. I have much experience with D&D 3.5e and I could DM, however I'm still new to this new system and it might take a while for me to construct a worthwhile game world.

*breaks the chain more* Well I forgot to mention in my post that I live in the middle of east and west coast, but I think that weekends would be preferable with me because I have a summer school course that I'm currently taking and I will be done in July sometime. My class runs Mon-Thurs and I'm home roughly around 11:30am CDT or CST (which ever one that we are in).

I'd be happy to wait for Jonathon to make a map. Also, "Middle of east and west coast" Not sure what you mean by that, there's a lot of stuff in between those two coasts. So if we got this group together we would have four people, and a DM? Sounds good to me :D Also the more the merrier.

Yeah, and I'd be happy to have Jonathon DM - it'll probably take awhile for us to get all our characters up and running anyway, which we'll probably need a session or two just to wring out. And Mathre, did you mean you get home at 11:30 AM in the morning? As in, they are morning classes? I only ask because again, Friday and Saturday nights are a no go for me, because I work overnights 11 PM to 9 AM. Any weekday, any time, or Sunday night, would be better for me - just not those two nights.

You guys go ahead and figure out the schedule. As long as it's not during the weekdays I'm able to work with it (most likely). If you guys wanna do a few sessions to get your characters in order that'd be great. I can do some editing during that time.

This sounds like a great plan we have, but we all need to get together in real-time and discuss this. So far it looks like our best option would be Sunday nights. It seems to work for everyone. Anyway, the sooner we can make a concrete plan the better.

I agree that Sunday nights are looking the best right now. Another possibility would be sometime during the week during the afternoon. I assume we all live in the U.S., right?

Sunday nights are good with me too, Mathre? Jon? Yes Edi, I'm in New York, and I'm free any time of day (barring late Friday and Saturday nights for work). I mean, I could do evening Friday (6-8 PM Eastern) just understand I have work after, so I wouldn't be able to stay around for long if that absolutely has to be the time.

So do we have a planned meeting for this Sunday? (06/10/12) And around what time on Sunday? Somewhere around 7:00-8:00 pm until whenever?

Well I think we need to get time conversions straight first. I'm 3 hours behind the majority of you. 7pm for you is 4pm for me, but I'll try to keep everything in EST for you guys. I should be good Sunday nights at about 11pm and go for about 4 hours.

Um.... I have to get up at 6:30am CDT on monday, so it all depends on what time that we start. *looks at Jon's last post* Um.... Could we do it a little earlier?

Yeah I would have to agree with Mathre, Starting at 11pm is a little late for me. Any chance of starting earlier?

I guess the standard of conversion is gonna be EST then? I also have to get up at 6:30 A.M., so I am hoping that we can get it earlier. After next week everything will clear out though and I won't have to get up so early. Maybe we can have a shorter session on Sunday, or maybe during the day Saturday. Since we aren't relly going to be playing anything I don't think that we need to meet for four hours. We could meetfor maybe an hour or two and decide the schedule then. Mathre, we are talking in EDT, which would be one hour later than CDT. So for you it would be from 10-2.

Okay so, what? Meet in chat this Sunday at what time? We can go an hour or two per session. I'm just used to several hour sessions.

Ugh, well if we can find a better time I'm all for it, but during the day Saturday is hard for me, in-between overnights and all. Definitely should meet this Sunday to figure out timing/character creation details.

Yeah, I way too tired still to start at 10pm cdt or 11pm est. Saturday is during the day is good for me. Although depending on the time, I go IRL gaming with friends Saturday night. around 7pm. Has anyone thought that we just start right now, since we are all on.

(this was in response to William) Yeah I think that would be for the best, is a meeting this Sunday afternoon/night, to plan out our next meetings. So not necessarily building characters, but just talking it out, and finding the best way to meet. This might only take 5 minutes of talking, and then if we can, we can work on some character building. So I would say: 10:00 pm EST 06/10/12 and we can go from there.

Jon, any ideas for the campaign like setting or starting lvl?

I'm working on the starting level right now, starting details and whatnot aren't quite figured out yet, but we can sort that all out right now. We have a chat system on here we can do it on?

You offer a trade ship captain free guard for free passage to the mainland of country of Arron (A-Ron). He agrees to the terms. Your equipment is limited by only what you can carry on yourself and in one bag. You are provided the full trip's worth of poor rations. You are estimated to be on the ship for 12 days. Starting level not yet figured out.

Um, whatever you want is good with me. If you could hide whatever your working on from us, we could use Rolld20 itself?

We can all just enter the game and chat there, yes. I'll just have you all looking at a pretty picture of a ship.

Hey so I was thinking Saturday nights 7ish central time, how does that work for everyone? Also I would love some simple character bios, im thinking level 1 but please be creative.

Joe, I generally have RL gaming on saturday nights and we normally start at around 6pm Central. Friday are good and Sundays, but Sundays I can't stay up really late because I have a summer class that I need to wake up for early in the morning.

I'm switching to sat/sun overnights at my job, so ANY weekday (mon-fri) is good for me, but not so much weekends.

So... Is there anything happening tonight the game?
