
Story It was about a month ago that word first arrived of treasures untold and glory unbound when a section of caves were discovered deep within the eastern mountains. Every adventurer, thief and archaeologist was eager to make their way and become set for life. But nothing in life is easy, least of all money. Tales started to be told of terrible fates of those that retrieved gold, art or knowledge from the hidden city deep within the caves. This city has become known, simply as THE UNDERCITY. Sprawling for miles without end, layer upon layer, it's unknown creators seem to simply have vanished and those that see it for themselves are soon removed from this mortal coil. You have been conscripted by the Republic of New Angoria for your exceptional skills and called to the High Council's chambers. They have promised a life of luxury and a full pardon for your past indiscretions, should you return successful. Defiance System Defiance is a homebrew system based upon 20 years of playing in systems like D&D (2,3,3.5,4,5), Pathfinder, White Wolf, GURPS, HERO, ODAM and several others. Defiance was built out of a continual pattern of seeing some cool stuff on the outside and being frustrated about the same old things. Defiance gives you the flexibility to make what you want and not feel that someone who can "build better" is always much more powerful. We've tossed the idea of the six core attributes in favor of some more functional and fewer attributes. If you want to be a fat wizard, do it. Not everyone who casts was a genius... Our classes and races are many. In Defiance, you don't just level up, you devote your level to either your Race or your Class, with a simple system for "Cross-Class" and "Cross-Race" leveling. Each level gives you something substantial, without the need to min-max.
