How do I retrieve information lost in character sheet changes?

I play Vampire. The character sheets changed and I lost some categories. Like the notes section, which was like ten or twenty pages long. I have a backup but it's months old. Missing months of notes. And a bunch of backgrounds and disciplines, some of which I remember and some of which I don't. The old sheet was seriously lacking in space, and the update is probably for the best, but I could really use a look at the old sheet to see my information. Is there any way to do that or am I just missing a bunch of information forever?
Probably not.

Take a look at the Attributes & Abilities tab in the character journals; I suspect you'll find your information there.

But only if it wasn't in a repeating section...  If it was in a repeating section, you'll likely need to go pro and load up the old sheet to get what you want. If you know the names of the HTML attributes (if it was a repeating section) your could also try to output the info to the chat window by typing @{<your character's name>|repeating_<the repeating section name>_$0_<the field name>} To get each field you'd just need to increate the $0 to $1, $2, etc... I think that syntax is right...

"Typically" it is up to the sheet author to migrate user attribute data automatically(sheetworker script) if changes are made to existing attributes...  The old attribute data "should" still exist.  Other's may have experienced the same issue as you.  You might try contacting the sheet's author to see if such measures can be made.  Which sheet is it?
I just go where my ST tells me and muddle along. Scripts in general I'm more familiar with, but roll20 I just fill in empty fields where it's convenient.  Checked Attributes and Abilities, and it's buried, and in very inconvenient format, but I do believe everything is there and can be recovered. Thanks for the help!
