6. Medieval Peasants and their Quests of Extraordinary Proportions Time zone: CDT 7pm-8pm or 9pm. Day to be decided among group. GMs rotate once a week so all in group play and don’t get GM burnout. FAE/Fate Core, Discord, 3-4 players (Not including GM) In a Nutshell : Several peasants partake on missions set forth by the Donjon random adventures and travel the kingdom on a multitude of quests, serving as the Kings loyal subjects. Idea : A group of peasants in the land of DonJon, wake up in the sleepy village of Adventure with another day of crop harvest to tend to. However, a large ruckus has begun outside of their doors, with blasting horns and the banging of drums. It was none other than the King himself, Sir Quixote of La Mancha. The Kings entire entourage of knights was present in amazing fashion. The peasants had never seen the King before, let alone a knight. The drums and clanking of armor halted as the King leaped from his noble steed, Rocinante. A small man approached from behind the King. It was Sancho Panza, a local farmer from the neighboring town. He was dressed in the armor of a conquistador and he began to speak. “Hear ye, hear ye. A war has begun with our neighboring Kingdom, LongFarAway. Sir Quixote of La Mancha and the King’s Knights of the Oblong Table shall be departing for said war for an unknown period of time. By declaration of the King, it is the duty and responsibility of the most able bodies of this representing town take up the responsibility for defending and protecting the Kingdom of DonJon. This is per the declaration written in 1345 AD by the ruling King, that should said time occur, that the Village of Adventure would supply such able bodies for the Kingdom. Such able bodies shall now present themselves and their heritage.” Now, the village of Adventure truly was once the place of Legend. With axe wielding warriors and apple splitting archers. But as the Kingdom grew, the magnificent fighters and warriors of old moved off. And as they did, the town decreased in size and slowly turned into the rural farming community as seen today. Even the fathers, forefathers of the village elders couldn’t recall when there were warriors here. But it was clear that this information had not made it back to the King’s Castle. However, Law is Law in the land of DonJon, especially in the eyes of their King. Who were they to doubt the Laws of the Land? A few able bodies stepped forward out of the burlap cladded crowd. So it is written, The Medieval Peasants of the farming town of Adventure would begin their Quests of Extraordinary Proportions. I had had to get this out there because it’s been an idea for a while since I was playing dnd but everything was tied into rules and regulations. Here I think it has potential. Please let me know what you think.
