When you start the game almost broke, money = power. Magic Items: We'll be using Treasure Points XGtE (pg 174) BUT also the CAMPAIGN LIMITS from XGtE (pg 135); Those limits are very strict . NINE minor magic items and TWO major items will be awarded between the first and fourth levels - that's it. That's all you can expect between yourselves and your opponents. We will also be using the XGtE Magic Items awarded by Tier (and the breakdown table ) pg 135. We'll also be using the Downtime Activities from Xanthar's so you can search for and find Magic Items, but it's expensive and requires a persuasion roll.  Tables A, B, C, D & F are available. But once your PCs fill the slots as detailed in the CAMPAIGN LIMITS, that's it. No more items will be available to find.  But a cleric with a proficiency in Alchemists Supplies can MAKE Lesser (and later Greater) Healing Potions,  and those items don't count against the list.
