Tiamat, the Five-Headed Dragon God of Evil was called by the Dragon Cults to the Material Plane. Her coming heralded an apocalypse of collapsing civilizations, falling like dominoes to the united Chromatic Dragons and their collective armies. In four Waves of ever-widening destruction since then, the world as was has been brought to the brink of collapse. In her absolute triumph, Tiamat challenged the Old Gods themselves, and the Avatars of the latter rose up to lead the initial fightback against the Dragon Queen and her hordes. Tiamat had the mastery, however, and fed well upon the souls of the Old Gods and their believers in the near century of war that followed. Some of the minor gods hid and survived, and are still worshipped by refugees of the long-lived races today. Bahamut fought Tiamat to a standstill to defend Arkhosia, and was only badly wounded. Lolth - allied with Tiamat, some whisper - even managed to expand her Demonweb Pits. But to all intents and purposes, the Old Gods and their religions are dead. Their temples stand silent. Waiting. YOU are bold pilgrims and refugees, celebrating an ancient festival to usher in the new year of 104 A.O., in your stockaded village on the coast of the continent your people have fled to years ago. This place is a haven from the war in the centre of the world. Many here are heirs to the Hruncian Dynasty that fell with the Onslaught of Tiamat, but all seek to build a new life in a new world free from the terrors of the old. But though the people may forget their gods and the faces of their fathers, the gods themselves do not forget so easily. This new world brings with it new perils to challenge the faith and fortitude of these brave people, YOU all perhaps the most...
